‘Offensive line is only one area that has been sabotaged by injury, and incredible as it may seem, the defense is in even worse shape.’

‘Dick Jauron made a couple of interesting decisions, one of which was yanking Edwards from the game, the other coming when he declined a holding penalty on the Titans and rolled the dice that Rod Bironas would miss a 51-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Bironas made it, and the Titans went up 27-17, but it’s hard to kill Jauron for that. The Wildcat option pass called by Alex Van Pelt was a success, but that was about it from him. His offense is as bad as Turk Schonert’s was last year. On defense, Perry Fewell has so little to work with it’s tough to get on him when his guys give up 378 yards.’

For the season they have been outscored 101-40 in the final period and have now lost four times in games they were either leading or tied heading into the fourth quarter. “What’s new?” receiver Terrell Owens said. “That’s how it has been — we lose games in the third and fourth quarter.”‘
