‘”I have all the respect in the world for him,” the former Oregon State star said. “I think he’s a tremendous coach. “When you’re a head coach you get your share of the blame when the team is not playing well. But that blame must also come back to the players. I know that all the guys in the locker room, we all played hard for him. He never pointed fingers. He always took responsibility when things didn’t go well. And that’s all you can ask for from a coach. I feel bad because I look at myself and ask what more could I have done to save this man’s job.”‘
