‘It’s not just coordinators. Three quarterbacks were garbage. Four offensive lines produced little. His team was as injured-plagued as any in the league. That’s not necessarily snake-bitten, as Pro Football Talk said. It could be the guys were unready to play football. Maybe he forgot to tell them to stretch. Whoops!’

Buffalo Bills linebacker Keith Ellison fighting injuries during career year
‘”I have all the respect in the world for him,” the former Oregon State star said. “I think he’s a tremendous coach. “When you’re a head coach you get your share of the blame when the team is not playing well. But that blame must also come back to the players. I know that all the guys in the locker room, we all played hard for him. He never pointed fingers. He always took responsibility when things didn’t go well. And that’s all you can ask for from a coach. I feel bad because I look at myself and ask what more could I have done to save this man’s job.”‘
Sadly, Jauron dismissal was deserved
‘Yeah, it’s unfortunate to see a such decent man get gassed, but Jauron knew what the score was entering the season: Another 7-9 finish wouldn’t cut it, so he would have to make changes. And he did. He fired his offensive coordinator just before the season, then fired his starting left tackle. The moves were gambles, but they meant that if Jauron was going to go out he would do it on his terms. And he did. He went out 3-6, with the Bills stuck at the bottom of the AFC East and near the bottom of almost all offensive statistics.’
Disastrous finishes dooming Buffalo
‘The most glaring example of that is Trent Edwards. He went from a decent game manager to a guy who likely will not find a job in the NFL if he is cut by the Bills after this season.’
Bills finally fire Jauron
‘Jauron and the front office have committed a series of missteps. They fired offensive coordinator Turk Schonert 10 days before their season opener. Terrell Owens is on his way to having the least productive season of his career, making his addition little more than a publicity stunt. They’re no closer to knowing who their quarterback is. Trent Edwards appeared to be the clear-cut starter but may have lost the job to Ryan Fitzpatrick. They misjudged their talent on the offensive line, thinking they were fine at tackle after trading two-time Pro Bowler Jason Peters and moving veteran Langston Walker from the right to the left. Walker didn’t make the 53-man roster.’
Bills fire Jauron after dismal 3-6 start
‘Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell is expected to become the Bills’ interim head coach, a Bills source told NFL.com’s Vic Carucci.’
Bills fire coach Jauron after 3-6 start
‘A replacement coach has yet to be hired as the Bills prepare to play at Jacksonville on Sunday. Jauron’s successor is expected to come from the current staff and be hired on an interim basis only. Candidates include assistant head coach Bobby April and defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.’
Jauron fired as Bills head coach
‘This season has been more of the same at 3-6, despite high hopes in the preseason after the team signed high-profile, yet disappointing WR Terrell Owens.’
Dick Jauron Fired
‘In December of 2008, the team gave the coach a contract extension. The length and financial terms of the deal were never made public.’
Bills fire Jauron
‘Jauron was in his fourth year as head coach of the Bills, who fell to 3-6 after losing to Tennessee, 41-17, on Sunday. Buffalo has never had a winning record under Jauron, as the team went 7-9 in his first three seasons.’
South Point grad named head coach of Buffalo Bills
‘Perry would be the first-ever NFL head coach from Gaston County.’
Bills fire head coach Jauron
‘Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell will likely take over as interim head coach, NFL.com reported.’
Jauron relieved of coaching duties
‘”I am announcing today that I am relieving Dick Jauron from his duties as our head coach, effectively immediately," said Wilson in a team statement. "I have tremendous respect for Dick and thank him for all of his efforts during these past four years. While this was a very difficult decision, I felt that it is one that needed to be made at this time for the best interest of our team. We will now focus on moving forward and preparing for our game this week in Jacksonville.”‘
DT Williams working to return
‘”Yeah I tore it off the tibia so if I pick it up and shake it, it kind of wobbles a little bit, but when they did the stress test on it after the game in Carolina the knee shoved way in and now it’s down pretty tight,” he said. “It’s just a question of getting it all the way there where I can move around.”‘
High pick in cards for Bills
‘"I’m telling you, they could lose out," Rex said. "K.C. is playing better. Maybe they beat Miami here, but I doubt it. I think the players are ready to cave. And my God, could they be any more boring? I’d rather watch city council reruns."’
