‘Trent Edwards played well early on but struggled mightily when the game was on the line. When he threw an interception that was returned for a score late in the game he was pulled for Ryan Fitzpatrick. Edwards finished 18 of 28 for 185 yards and a touchdown pass to Lee Evans on a pretty fade pattern. Fitzpatrick went just 2 of 6 and had his own pick returned for a score. Grade D: Both of these quarterbacks are more towards #3s instead of #1s.’

‘ Buffalo’s primary concern this afternoon against Tennessee was figuring out a way to stop Chris Johnson, the NFL’s leading rusher. Not surprisingly, the NFL’s worst run defense wasn’t able to do that as Johnson rolled up 132 yards on the ground, plus caught nine passes for 100 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the Titans to a 41-17 victory over the Bills at LP Field.’

‘The Bills looked as if the bye week did some good on the opening drive, and the wildcat formation that didn’t work before the bye against Houston did against Tennessee. Fred Jackson first ran for 2 yards, then took the snap again as he faked running into the line, stopped and tossed a 27-yard pass to a wide-open Lee Evans for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead.’

‘Trent Edwards returned to his starting role after missing the better part of three games following a concussion suffered against the Jets on October 18 and finished 18-of-28 passing for 185 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Ryan Fitzpatrick took over for Edwards late in the fourth quarter and finished 2-of-7 with six yards and a pick that was returned for a score.’

‘Titans’ running back Chris Johnson had his way with the Buffalo defense, gashing the team for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground and 100 yards receiving on 9 catches.’

‘The game was closer than the final score indicated. Buffalo overcame a 17-7 first half deficit to tie the score entering the fourth quarter. But the Titans scored 24 unanswered points in the final frame with two touchdowns coming on a 26-yard Vincent Fuller interception return for a touchdown with three minutes left and a 31-yard Roderick Hood interception return for a touchdown in the waning moments.’

‘Andy Levitre moved over from left guard to tackle, while Seth McKinney was playing at left guard for Buffalo in the second half.’

‘The Bills deactivated three defensive starters: linebacker Keith Ellison (thigh), cornerback Terrence McGee (knee) and tackle Kyle Williams (knee). Strong safety Bryan Scott is starting in Ellison’s spot, with George Wilson starting at safety for Scott.’

‘The Bills and Titans have not faced each other all that often in this first decade of the 21st century, but the matchups that have taken place have been memorable. With three regular season meetings and one controversial one in the postseason, Buffalo vs. Tennessee has had a bit more flavor than most intra-conference series.’

He has nurtured his relationship with Adams through the years. He didn’t last this long without accepting that the owner will sometimes get his way.’

‘Jamon Meredith, who started the past three games at that spot, is questionable with a sprained knee. It’s expected that Kirk Chambers will start at right tackle.’
