‘Owens said he fell asleep on his couch Monday night after practice, and then woke up feeling stiff early the next morning. He was held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday, and the team said he had a strained hip.’

Three defensive starters out for Sunday
‘The Bills should have Terrell Owens in the lineup on Sunday, but Buffalo’s defense will again be shorthanded. Terrence McGee, Keith Ellison and Kyle Williams were all declared out for this weekend’s game at Tennessee by head coach Dick Jauron Friday.’
Owens, Schobel questionable for Sunday
‘”I felt good,” said Owens after Friday’s practice. “With a lot of prayer and rest and treatment I knew I would be ready. I’ve been in this situation. I know my body better than anybody else or any doctor for that matter. Early in the week it was painful. I’m not sure what triggered it. But I did everything (Friday), ran routes full speed, no pain, no nothing so I’m good.”‘
Titans run game will test Buffalo Bills
‘And he’ll have a chance to get rolling against a Buffalo defense that has allowed 38 rushes of 10 yards or more and is tied for the league-lead with 10 runs allowed of at least 20 yards, a huge reason why opponents are averaging an astounding 5.1 yards per attempt.’
Where Hardy Stands
‘Wide receivers traditionally take time to develop, and that’s indicated in the relative struggles of all but three of the picks. In terms of sophomore slumps, only DeSean Jackson and Kelly are on pace to match or pass their freshman numbers. Coincidentally or not, the players who’ve had better quarterbacks are generally having better careers, and only Royal, Avery and DeSean Jackson could fairly be considered a Top-Two receiver.’
Scott likely to start at LB
‘”I’m plugged in and it’s been a learning experience,” he said. “I’m kind of learning on the fly. This is the first time in a while where I feel like a rookie again. There’s been a whole bunch of studying and extra film work. I sat down last night and had hours of homework. But it’s coming along.”‘
Bills’ Nelson trying to catch a break
‘"We definitely want to be more involved in the passing game, and it’s something the coaches have talked about," Nelson said. "We’re working on it every day. Alex [Van Pelt, the Bills’ offensive coordinator] has told me he wants to get me involved in the offense and showcase my talent out there.’
Scott returns from injury, shifts from safety to linebacker
‘”We’re kind of banged up, so wherever I can help out I’m willing to do that,” Scott said. “Shoot, to be honest, I’m just excited to suit back up and get back out there with my teammates. It’s been a long while, so I’m excited.”‘
Replay officials have obligation to review ‘totality’ of a play
‘ For instance, a coach might challenge that a receiver was bobbling the ball before he went out of bounds. If the replay shows that he had possession but did not get two feet in bounds, it’s incomplete. It doesn’t matter if the coach didn’t question the feet.’
