‘Still, former Bill and CBS analyst Steve Tasker said it’s a no-lose situation for both sides. "The Bills needed some help for Lee Evans, and with the one-year contract they’re not tied to him," Tasker said. "And if he has a big year he’ll have a chance to get one more big contract. It’ll be interesting to see whether it works out."’

Bills Insider: Chris Kelsay
‘It’s obviously an important game for us. Some of the younger guys might not realize it as much as the veterans, but this is an intense rivalry. Anytime you play in the division, they’re must wins. Whether it be New England, Miami or the New York Jets, they’re very important games. You play them twice a year so you know them really well. You tend to work on them pretty hard throughout the off-season because those are the games that matter. You win your division, you go to the post-season.’
Four starters out for Sunday
‘It leaves Buffalo with just two healthy defensive tackles for the game in Marcus Stroud and Spencer Johnson. Kyle Williams has been bothered by a groin injury, but practiced fully on Friday and is expected to play. Being down a man at defensive tackle could be an issue with the weather forecast calling for a high temperature of 89 degrees in Miami on Sunday.’
Kelly’s Call: Playmakers and young QBs
‘Trent is a leader on this team. He’s a captain so he’s got to make some plays in order for this team to win. They’re not a team right now that can afford to miss on those opportunities and still find a way to win a football game. They’ve got to capitalize on most of those each and every week. The offense is doing their best, but the players just have to dig a little deeper and play a little better and find a way to get the ball in the hands of the playmakers each week.’
Author to review best of Bills’ past seasons
‘Memorable moments in Bills history will be reviewed at 1 p. m. Saturday in the Buffalo&Erie County Historical Society, 25 Nottingham Court, in conjunction with the current exhibition “The Buffalo Bills 50th Season.”‘
Florence’s first start with Bills is right around the corner
‘"This is why we got Drayton," Jauron said. "We really liked him as a free agent and what he brings to us. He’s got a great attitude. He works hard. We’re really glad we have him."’
Offensive line is mindful of Dolphins’ Porter, Taylor
‘"They’re very effective in what they do," Scott said. "They have very good quickness. I can see they have savvy from watching the film. You can’t be in the league just off your name. You have to be able to produce, and they do that. It’s definitely going to be a challenge, but I’m looking forward to it."’
Bills’ Ellison has made most of playing time
‘"He’s a player that maximizes his ability by understanding what we’re doing with the scheme," said linebackers coach Matt Sheldon. "He’s a good opportunistic player who gets himself in the right place at the right time. And he’s made improvement."’
Buffalo Bills’ Wood looking to bounce back
‘"I had to get on him a little bit, but he’s never backed down from any challenge," Stroud said. "I think Eric’s going to be a good player in this league for a long time. He’s got the fundamentals down and now he works to get better every day. You can just tell by the way a guy moves, his demeanor, how he acts if he’s going to make it."’
