‘”This is definitely a pretty unique week, a unique situation for our secondary,” said George Wilson, who is next up on the depth chart behind Scott.’

T.O. rips Harrison, not Bills
‘”Guys are going to say what they want to say,” he said. “I can only take so much and be the butt of somebody’s jokes and they want to get on there and make a name for themselves, but I’m not going to allow somebody to just call me a clown and feel like they can run all over me.”‘
Owens in no-win situation after Bills loss
‘”It is very frustrating because I think that some of the guys and the coaches want to me step up and be more vocal and say things as a leader,” Owens said. “I feel like sometimes I try to do that, try to say things in a subtle way without being harsh, but other outlets are taking those quotes, making them headlines and making them more of an issue than they really are. I think that that is why the first couple of games I tended not to say anything after the games.”‘

Owens ”No Win Situation”
‘Having said that I think it was a step forward when Owens acknowledged as much during Wednesday’s session. The truth is he’s got a right to be frustrated with the way things have gone so far during the regular season. He’s a got a quarterback that’s been coached to check down, and an offensive line that can’t protect the passer well enough to allow him to break that habit…. but Owens feels he can’t say any of that. That’s because he’s in Buffalo on a one-year deal determined to prove that he can still play without being a destructive force off the field. Translation…. he’s got financial motivation to keep his mouth shut and catch the football… whenever the Bills happen to throw it his way.’
Inside slant
‘With Bills quarterback Trent Edwards struggling and Miami backup Chad Henne starting in place of an injured Chad Pennington, the game’s spotlight will be on four sterling running backs: Buffalo’s Lynch and Fred Jackson and Miami’s Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams.’
Strategy and personnel
‘”It’s a challenge, no doubt, but there’s nothing we can do about it but take the next step and see what happens, see how their health is Sunday,” coach Dick Jauron said. “Everyone in the league has injuries and you have to play through them but we certainly have had our share of them.”‘
Notes, quotes
‘Owens said he doesn’t have any special history with Harrison. “He’s just a regular loudmouth safety,” Owens said.’
Buffalo Bills Transcripts – 9/30/09
‘ "Like everything that we play or anybody plays, the opponent does make plays on you. They’re all professional athletes that all prepare hard and they’re all capable of executing. Wherever our inadequacies exist – and we have them – we know we got to get better at them, so we just work harder, try to work harder. [I] don’t have a lot of more sophisticated answers, key a little better, prepare ourselves a little better, work a little harder, it’s all the old things that have worked forever and we hope they work for us."’
Owens goes on inoffensive in answering questions
‘”I think over the years that’s always gotten me in trouble and created some sort of division in the locker room with guys on the team,” Owens said after practice Wednesday. “I try to do the right thing now. And even when I try to do the right thing, it’s not the right thing. I’m in a situation where I’m in a no-win situation. I just try to do the best I can do without offending someone.”‘
