‘Turk Schonert should have been fired at the end of last season. He either did not know what he was doing or could not get in sync with his boss or both. But they spend those countless hours on the field and in the classroom acting as if they are developing a plan to combat our dependence on foreign oil. Then in the end, a week and a half from the first thing that really matters, all that is Turk gets kicked to the curb and they drop it in the lap of Alex Van Pelt. I actually think Van Pelt is going to be very good at this job. But for this year? Maybe he is the guy who doesn’t need all those practices and preseason games as a play caller to get ready.’
