‘”So I’m still going to show up every day, give my 100 percent and ride my boys,” he said. His suspension begins Sept. 5 and will last until Sept. 28, the day after Buffalo plays the New Orleans Saints.’

Practice Notes – Day 10
‘”It is cool to have us both in there and you’ll have a guy to work with and you’ll have a guy in the same boat as you,” said Wood. “Going against a guy like Marcus Stroud and for him Kyle Williams, not every day is going to be your best day, but you have got to get better every day. As you keep getting better, those mistakes will lessen and you’ll become a good player.”‘
Lynch learns lesson
‘”It’s a hard thing sitting out a game when you’re not hurt,” Lynch said. “Preparing, leading up to it, just the feeling you have when you know you can play and now you can’t play, it’s gives you that feeling that I messed up. That isn’t a position I want to be in. I love being out there too much to ever want to put myself in a position like this where I can’t strap up on Sunday to go be out there with my boys.”‘
Buffalo certain rewards are worth any T.O. risks
‘Right now, Buffalo – the team and its followers – don’t want to hear about how divisive T.O. will be, how selfish he is, how he’ll ruin their Bills. To them, the entire situation might be wrong, but it feels so right.’
Wilson goes from ëFoolish Club’ to Hall of Fame
‘”His steadfast loyalty to Buffalo is undeniable. He’s worn the colors of Buffalo with pride and poise and class. He’s the star among stars,” Raiders owner Al Davis said. “When he got up, you knew he was speaking from a small market, he was speaking for the good of the league.”‘
Undeniably, T.O.’s Bills’ best talker
‘”For what it’s worth and what you (may) believe, I’m more of a reserved person,” Owens maintained. “When I’m away from football or when I’m around certain people, I’m a little bit reserved. It wasn’t that Jerry Rice or any of those guys weren’t accessible, I just tried to learn as much from the coach and as much as I could visually. Just watching those guys run routes, I soaked up a lot just sitting back behind the huddle. Matt Cavanaugh and Bill Walsh at the time coached (quarterback) Steve Young as far as his progressions, and ball placement. The West Coast offense is all about precision and timing so I had to pick all of that up.”‘
From ninth-grade C’s to Buffalo D’s
‘Maybin is a risky investment. He had one breakthrough season at Penn State. Maybe he’s a one-hit wonder.’
No reprieve for Bills’ All-Pro RB
‘Lynch was arrested in February by Culver City, Calif. police after they searched his parked car and found a 9mm semiautomatic handgun in a backpack. Police also found four marijuana cigarettes in the car, but no drug charges were filed. Lynch pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of having a concealed firearm and was sentenced to 80 hours’ community service and three years’ probation. It marked the second straight offseason Lynch was entangled in a legal mess.’
Front five on O-line in place
‘The two guard spots were the only question marks going into camp, but head coach Dick Jauron confirmed that rookies Andy Levitre and Eric Wood will man the starting left and right guard positions moving forward.’
From chasing fly balls to chasing QBs
‘”I started getting scholarship offers, and pretty soon I was getting burned out on baseball,” Williams said. “It seemed like the way to go. I think it has worked out pretty good.”‘
Cottrell: From mentor to presenter
‘”It was just a matter of what he was looking at,” Cottrell told Buffalobills.com. “We spent a lot of time discussing the plan of what to look for in the player, his opponent. His stance, the way he set, when he was run blocking was he heavy on his hands. When he was pass blocking did he cheat in his stance? Can he use his hands well? Was he very strong? Then from his opponent we would move on to the tight end, the guard, the quarterback and the running backs and fullback.”‘
Bills’ Evans ready to get loose
‘"An out route is an out route," Evans said of a short pass to the sideline, "but there’s different ways to get there. When you plant on an out route, a lot of people say plant and get your head around and that will carry you out [toward the sideline]. Somebody else might say plant and think about stepping hard with your inside foot. There’s different ways to think about doing the same thing. So that’s a big help."’
Maybin’s absence not a concern
‘The holdup is the cluster of No. 1 draft picks preceding Maybin that remain unsigned. Jacksonville offensive tackle Eugene Monroe, Green Bay defensive tackle B.J. Raji and San Francisco wideout Michael Crabtree are still without contracts. They’re the three players selected before Maybin, who went 11th overall.’
The billboard
‘”I try to be a resource and a channel between the players and the union,” Wilson said. “It’s been a good experience thus far. I’ve networked with people and I now have a full understanding of how everything works.”‘
Buffalo Bills RB Jackson has chance to shine
‘"You shouldn’t play this game if you don’t think you should be a starter," Jackson said. "I definitely feel I’m capable of being a starting running back anywhere."’
