‘”I’m very honored and humbled,” Owens added. “I feel more pressure selling these boxes of T.O.’s than I do scoring touchdowns.”‘

Bills Wood eager to start practicing; S Byrd waits
‘"It’s been absolutely miserable. … It was like a bad dream," Wood said of spending the past two weeks waiting in Buffalo. "I was even telling people, `Can’t I just go to Rochester and be a part of it?’ And they’re like, `You can’t be there if you don’t sign a contract.’"’
Byrd playing catch up
‘”When we talk about development, his development is definitely hindered because there was no OTA session on the field,” said Fewell. “And he’s going to miss I don’t know how many, one, two weeks of camp, so he’s got a lot of catching up to do.”‘
T.O. can’t cure all Bills ills
‘Some consider the Bills a dark horse in the AFC East. They have the offensive firepower to make some noise, but have they improved enough to overcome their 0-6 division record last year? The Bills have gone 7-9 each season since Jauron arrived. It’s foreseeable they could go 7-9 a fourth year in a row, but be much better than they’ve been.’
Backup QB waits for his chance
‘However, one look at Hamdan during training camp, and you would think the career backup was going to be the Week 1 starter. He spends practices leading the backups and working the drills as if he were the man in charge.’
Rhodes knows no huddle
‘”It’s pretty much the same,” Rhodes said. “I mean, from my rookie year I was running it, so it’s been a pretty easy transition for me to come over here. I mean, it feels like the same thing I’ve been doing my whole career. I come over here and we don’t huddle up. We huddled a little bit more in Indy. It doesn’t seem too fast paced right now, so I’m able to basically get all the plays in my head I process them pretty quick, and it’s pretty easy.”‘
All-new offensive line girds for season
‘Well, in less than seven weeks the Bills will be traveling to New England to take on the Patriots in the season-opening Monday night game at Gillette Stadium, and Langston Walker, Geoff Hangartner, Brad Butler and whoever else wins a starting job better have their work done by then.’
Only top draft pick still unsigned
‘Byrd is already well behind his teammates because he had to miss almost all of the OTA (organized team activity) sessions during the spring because his school, the University of Oregon, was still in session. With all the missed time at training camp, it seems unlikely he will have much of an impact early.’
T.O. show coming to Citytv
‘Citytv announced it has picked up The T.O. Show, which originates on the cable network VH1 in the U.S. The T.O. Show will debut on Citytv this coming Sunday.’
The billboard
‘The Bills’ defense had the upper hand in the first two-minute period of camp Wednesday. The Bills worked in pads for a third straight day. Linebacker Kawika Mitchell came free on a blitz for what would have been a hit on Trent Edwards. On the next play, Aaron Schobel broke into the backfield for a would-be sack. Then Drayton Florence had a good pass breakup on a ball for Josh Reed.’
Practice Notes – Day 5
‘”You’ve got different guys, you’ve got (Owens),” said McGee. “I know especially at the line he’s real strong, throws you off, so that’s some good work. You’ve got quick people, a person like Roscoe (Parrish), Lee (Evans). Its different guys so you can get better.”‘
Bills ink first-round pick Wood; second-round choice Byrd
‘Buffalo’s top draft choice, Penn State defensive end Aaron Maybin, remains unsigned five days into training camp.’
Postcard from camp: Bills
‘The Bills will go as far as the offensive line takes them.’
Five things to know
‘Just my opinion, but backup tackle Demetrius Bell could be the next Jason Peters with Buffalo.’
Welcome to the pressure cooker
‘In case you missed the memo, the Bills must start winning or else. So they will try to do it as they haven’t in years, with an overhauled offense that promises to — honest, folks — get the ball downfield.’
