Getting to know T.O., one show at a time
‘Owens comes across as charming, laid-back, conceited, playful and spoiled in Monday’s VH1 premiere. He becomes easy to root for in a more moving Aug. 3 episode sent for review, in which he visits his hometown of Alexander City, Ala. He visits his high school coach, gives the team a pep talk and talks with his mother, his sister and other relatives before winding up in church.’
T.O. is showing his softer ëTerrell’ side
‘”It is a way to show people that I am human outside of football. I am more than what they say or what they hear about that. . . It is behind-the-scenes in my personal life. . . I’m 35, I’m single, I’m looking for someone. . . You want a support system outside of your friends and family. . . I’m human. You want to share that love with someone.”‘
Terrell Owens’ new squeeze
‘The recently signed Buffalo Bills wide receiver has been spotted in Los An geles and Buffalo with upstate New York native and Maybelline model Jessica White.’
NFL’s Bills: Ex-employee stole $70G from team
‘The team’s lawyer said a recent internal audit discovered the missing funds.’
Can Walker hold down LT?
‘”They asked me to do it, it had been thrown around early and I mentally prepared myself for it,” Walker said of the full time switch for 2009. “After the draft, it was pretty obvious that I was going to be playing left tackle and I got a phone call (about it), too. Trent (Edwards) text messaged me and all of a sudden he wants to be my best friend. Trent and I are good friends, but (offensive line) coach Sean Kugler had called me. He basically broke it down and it wasn’t too much to explain.”
Likely one-and-done for T.O.
‘If T.O. has a productive 2009, the Bills probably couldn’t win a bidding war to keep him. If he has a disappointing 2009, the Bills probably wouldn’t want him back.’
Ex-Bills employee charged with theft
‘Schiavone said the theft occurred over a period of years and didn’t involve the actual taking of money. Rather, Krauss put through “unauthorized charges” for her own personal use.’
Former Bills Employee Allegedly Stole 70K
‘Bonnie Krauss, 49, is a former Executive Administrative Assistant with the Bills. According to a Bills media guide she worked there in 2006 as the Assistant to the Vice President of Marketing and Broadcasting.’
It’s all moot for Bills, Jags, Bears if rebuilt lines don’t gel
‘Even with Peters last season, the Bills had some protection problems in surrendering 38 sacks. That leaves the new unit with plenty to prove, particularly Walker, who says he is not intimidated by filling Peters’ role.’
Even more T.O. on TV, plus wing fest and Ani
‘On Thursday night, the new Buffalo Bills receiver visits ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Presumably, he’ll primarily be there to promote his VH1 reality series, “The T.O. Show.” But I suspect he might also talk about his participation in ABC’s “The Superstars” (which continues tonight) with the foul-mouth supermodel, Joanna Krupa, who was nicer to him last week in the third episode.’
Will Owens post double digit TDs?
‘”It doesn’t matter what uniform I’m in,” Owens said. “Anytime you step on a football field you want to win. I don’t think there is any difference with this team. Obviously with me, it’s an added weapon to what they already have, and what they had last year. So we’re looking to go full force with what we’ve got.”‘
Who will become a playmaker on offense?
‘Simply put, Buffalo needed more playmakers and a proven one is already on board in Terrell Owens. But who else is poised to step forward in 2009 and provide some big plays when they’re needed most to assist the aforementioned players that have been doing most of the heavy lifting?’
Can Butler re-master right tackle?
‘”It was something that after the draft, they called me and said, ‘Hey, we’re going to make a move to Langston at left tackle and you at right tackle.’ I told them, ‘Hey, if they want me to move to field goal kicker, then that’s what I’m willing to do,'” said Butler. “I believe in what Coach (Dick) Jauron has to say. We haven’t made the playoffs since I’ve been here, and if they think the best way to make the playoffs is by me playing right tackle then I’m willing to do it.”‘
How much will Sanders help the D-line?
‘”Bob Sanders is a good coach and more importantly a good man,” said Kampman. “I learned from him as both my position coach and my coordinator. He will be a great asset for Buffalo.”‘
