‘Still, the Bills couldn’t fix everything at once, and the tackle positions remain very big question marks heading into the 2009 season. If Trent Edwards doesn’t have time to throw, the addition of Terrell Owens won’t matter so much.’
‘”He’s a kid that’s really versatile, talented and a good technician,” said Bills scout Rashaan Curry. “At Oregon State he had played both guards and both tackles, and even a little bit at tight end. So (like Eric Wood) another blue collar guy, really smart, a football guy.”‘

Andy Levitre Drafted By Buffalo in the 2nd Round (OSUBeavers.com)
‘Buffalo gave up its 75th and 110th picks in the trade with Dallas on Saturday. A two-year starter, Levitre can play both guard and tackle, and became the second offensive lineman selected by the Bills a week after they traded Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters to Philadelphia.’
‘Byrd played most of his career as a coverage cornerback for the Ducks, but could project to free safety in the NFL.’

‘”Wood played guard in the Senior Bowl, so we got some pretty good exposure to that,” said Bills coordinator of College Scouting Doug Majeski. “I thought Eric did very well as a guard. He certainly has the size and I think would be able to hold up. He certainly has the mental makeup to do it, mentally to switch to guard from center.”‘
‘Listed at 6-foot-4, 248 pounds, Maybin was a late bloomer with the Nittany Lions, getting the most out his junior season last year in which he didn’t become a starter until three games in. Maybin still wound up leading the Big 10 with 12 sacks in 10 starts.’
‘Maybin burst onto the scene at Penn State in 2008 stepping into the starting lineup and racking up 12 sacks to rank fourth in the nation. His 19 tackles for loss last season was sixth best in the country.’
‘Buffalo’s biggest need, by far, is a pass rusher … either a defensive end or outside linebacker. Last season the Bills ranked 26th in the league with only 23 sacks, a figure impacted by the injured absence of end Aaron Schobel who played only five games. However, the trading of Peters creates an immediate hole at offensive tackle that virtually has to be addressed with one of the two first-rounders.’
