‘No word on whether Buffalo plans to make him their primary reserve tackle, but there’s the chance that the reliable Chambers could be considered for the Bills’ vacant left guard position after the release of veteran Derrick Dockery late last week.’

‘June (6’0″ 227) has been a starter for six of his seven NFL seasons with his most productive years coming in Indianapolis where he posted three consecutive 100 tackles seasons. In 2005 he also added five interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns helping him to earn AFC Pro Bowl honors.’

‘The Bills continued to peruse the free agent running back market as they hosted DeShaun Foster Wednesday. The unrestricted free agent played for San Francisco last season serving as a backup to 49ers feature back Frank Gore.’

‘Even if Taylor experienced a resurrection, it would be too brief. The Bills need long-term help at end, as the players they already own have been around long term. Aaron Schobel and Ryan Denney will both be 32 before the season opens, while Chris Kelsay is 29; regardless of one’s opinion of each player’s play, the group is collectively in autumn.’

‘”Having never been injured before kind of puts you in the state of mind where you’re wondering if you’ll ever get back on the field,” said Bowen. “But I think it was the first day when they allowed me to go back on the turf that I kind of felt like an athlete again. ‘Florence, 28, is a veteran of six NFL seasons, the first five of which he spent with San Diego. He played with Jacksonville in 2008, having signed a long-term deal, but was released by the Jaguars in early February after posting 36 tackles and three passes defensed in 15 games.’

‘Prior to going to Jacksonville, Florence was a three-year starter for San Diego, the team that drafted him in the second round in 2003. He made more than 120 tackles and had five interceptions combined in 2006 and 2007 for the Chargers. He also picked-off two more passes in the 2007 playoffs.’

‘Greer’s asking price was much higher than Florence, and that might have factored into the Bills’ decision.’

‘There were reports that stated veteran cornerback Drayton Florence was likely to return to play for the team that drafted him in the San Diego Chargers, but when it came down to hard numbers the Bills made an offer the free agent couldn’t turn down as he agreed to terms Buffalo late Tuesday.’

‘Former Yale running back Dick Jauron, who ran for a then-school-record 2,945 yards from 1970-72 and was the first Bulldog to win the Bushnell Cup as the Ivy League MVP, is one of 76 players on the 2009 College Football Hall of Fame ballot.’

‘A year ago, Florence was considered one of the prize cornerbacks of free agency. He left the Chargers to sign a six-year, $36.1 million deal with the Jaguars, but his experience in Jacksonville was not a good one.’

‘The Bills have signed cornerback Drayton Florence to a two-year, $6.6 million contract that can be worth $7.3 million with incentives.’
