‘Here’s a brief preview of the men who are largely responsible for making Buffalo’s special teams as respected as it is around the league today, knowing only one can be chosen.’

Agents: Bills preparing to release Dockery, Royal
‘Dockery’s agent, Todd France, told The Associated Press on Thursday that the Bills are preparing to cut his client because they want to go “in another direction.” Royal’s agent, Rick Smith, said his client will also be released on Thursday.’
Bill to release Dockery; possibly Royal
‘Dockery, 28, still will count $5.4 million against the Bills’ salary cap this year, but that’s less than he would have counted if he had stayed on the roster ($5.85 million). By releasing him, the Bills will avoid paying him a $1.75 million roster bonus in the coming weeks.’
Bills cut former free-agent prize Dockery
‘Dockery was one of the key prizes in the free agent class of 2007. His agent, Todd France, was able to get him a Steve Hutchinson-type package to leave the Washington Redskins for Buffalo. His seven-year, $49 million deal was the highest salary for a guard at the time.’
Bills should sift through Bucs’ old plunder
‘Brooks tops the list. He was one of the players who helped make the Tampa 2 what it is, as his unparalleled weakside coverage abilities allowed the Bucs to go ahead and dominate. He’s one of those somewhat rare players who’s been to the Pro Bowl after virtually every season and has actually deserved to attend.’
General Assembly honors Hall of Famer Bruce Smith
‘He was given floor privileges in the House and Senate and received a standing ovation following the reading of a resolution commending his career and charitable work with the youth of Hampton Roads.’
Bills ready for some shopping
‘The Bills are in position to address some needs on both sides of the ball, particularly offensive line, outside linebacker, tight end, backup quarterback, defensive line, safety and receiver.’
Va. lawmakers laud Bills legend Bruce Smith
‘The NFL’s all-time sack leader received proclamations and standing ovations Wednesday when he was presented before the House of Delegates and the state Senate.’
Bills tender Fred Jackson and other RB items
‘"We can verify that Fred was tendered, which we anticipated," Douglas said.’
Bills share their care
‘Buffalo Bills linebacker and Orchard Park native Jon Corto, Bills alumni Booker Edgerson, Bob Dugan, Ed Rutkowski, Harry Jacobs, Buffalo Jills cheerleader Amanda and Bills team mascot Billy Buffalo were in attendance at the Variety Kids Telethon 2009 on Sunday to lend their support.’
Taylor not tailor-made for Bills
‘Taylor has been a great back and seems like a great guy, but signing him would only be a very weak way of seeking revenge on the Jaguars, as he was taken with one of the picks Buffalo sent their way for the horridly odious Rob Johnson.’
Bills could get another shot at Taylor
‘It is unlikely Taylor would sign here unless the money was right and there were assurances of playing time. Pursuing him also raises the question of whether the Bills are looking at the possibility of trading Lynch, who was a Pro Bowl alternate in his second year.’
Fred Taylor, Patriots to meet
‘It appears the two AFC East rivals are the only teams bidding for the services of the Pro Bowl back, who was released by Jacksonville last week. Buffalo is an attraction, given Taylor has a relationship with coach Dick Jauron, who was previously on the Jaguars staff.’
Friends, family stand by Marshawn Lynch
‘"Hopefully, he’ll learn from his mistakes and move forward," Delisa Lynch said. "He needs to change his circle of friends. He respects his mom and listens to me."’
All-Time Team QB nominee preview
‘Here’s a brief preview of the men who manned the most important position on the field to provide a full picture of the candidates knowing only one can be chosen.’
