‘Dockery’s agent, Todd France, told The Associated Press on Thursday that the Bills are preparing to cut his client because they want to go “in another direction.” Royal’s agent, Rick Smith, said his client will also be released on Thursday.’

‘Dockery, 28, still will count $5.4 million against the Bills’ salary cap this year, but that’s less than he would have counted if he had stayed on the roster ($5.85 million). By releasing him, the Bills will avoid paying him a $1.75 million roster bonus in the coming weeks.’

‘Dockery was one of the key prizes in the free agent class of 2007. His agent, Todd France, was able to get him a Steve Hutchinson-type package to leave the Washington Redskins for Buffalo. His seven-year, $49 million deal was the highest salary for a guard at the time.’
