When a head coaching job opened at Tulsa in 2002, he helped in the marriage between Kragthorpe and TU. "Not only did he help me get the job there, but he rallied a lot of former players around the Tulsa area and the country," Kragthorpe said. "He was really instrumental in rekindling the flame for Tulsa football. We would not have been able to do at Tulsa what we were able to do if it was not for Jerry Ostroski."’
