‘”Of a number of heartbreaking losses, that was the worst. It was a dismal locker room,” said Jauron, who insists the play-action pass was his call, not offensive coordinator Turk Schonert’s.’

Dick Jauron takes hit for Bills’ fold against Jets on big fumble
‘As he left the podium Sunday, Jauron said that despite the rumblings that his job was in jeopardy, he had no concerns about taking the blame. “It backfired clearly and it caused us to lose the game,” Jauron said. “The guys fought hard. They made enough plays to win that football game. I just didn’t help them with that call.”‘
Bills coach Jauron takes blame after loss to Jets
‘Bills coach Dick Jauron is supposed to have agreed in October to a contract extension that will take him through the 2011 season. The team has never acknowledged or denied it. For Jauron’s sake, he’d better hope he kept a copy of the signed contract.’
Bills’ Mitchell says Giants didn’t reward him
‘”There are a lot of things I could be upset about, seeing a lot of players I think aren’t better than I am getting paid a lot more. But I wouldn’t be half the player I am if I got hung up on that stuff.”‘

Snap Judgments for Week 15
‘If the New York Jets go on to win the AFC East, they should at least have the decency to vote Bills quarterback J.P. Losman a full playoff share.’
Ref goes face first into turf, gets bloody nose
‘Referee Jeff Triplette was knocked face first into the turf and had his nose bloodied during Shaun Ellis’ fumble return for a touchdown in the New York Jets’ 31-27 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. “I’m good, I’m good,” Triplette told The Associated Press after the game, with both nostrils filled with gauze. “It’s not a broken nose. It’s just bloodied.”‘
Good Brett prevails over Bad Brett in Jets’ win over Bills
‘After not scoring a touchdown in their last two games, the Bills’ offense came to life behind the running of Marshawn Lynch, who broke several tackles en route to 127 yards on 21 carries, as well as the resourceful play of quarterback J.P. Losman, who was 4 for 4 for 43 yards on a six-play, 64-yard scoring drive that gave Buffalo a 27-24 lead. But all that was for naught, as Losman was stripped of the ball on a corner blitz by Abram Elam as the Bills were trying to salt away a victory late in the fourth quarter.’
Coaching Failure Costs Bills Game
‘Dick Jauron took full blame for the play action pass play. So he should be fired immediately although that won’t happen. When Lynch is taking the game on his back, let him win it for you! Perry Fewell needs to find a way to kick start a defense that plays awful on the opening series. The opening TD drive was way too easy. The whole unit got tricked by Favre’s bootleg. Turk Schonert either called a really bad play to lose the game or has had his responsibilities stripped. Either way he’s on his way out of town. Why can’t they make one play downfield? Grade F-: There should be cleaning house in the offseason if not sooner.’
Immediate Reactions: NY Jets 31, Buffalo 27
‘Why in the world were they passing on 2nd-and-5 with just over two minutes to play and the lead? That was easily the dumbest play call of the year. Bar none. I want you all to send me emails about dumber play calls and I will tell you why this one was worse. Horrible, horrible, horrible.’
Bills Fumble Away Game, Playoffs; Drop to Jets 31-27
‘Abram Elam made another game-changing play for New York against the Bills. Losman dropped back to pass on a 2nd-and-5 with 2:06 left on the clock, held on to the football a bit too long, giving Elam enough time to get to him and strip the Bills of both the football and the victory. Shaun Ellis scooped up the football and rumbled his way in to the end zone, giving the Jets the go-ahead score for good. Bills head coach described the play as "a call I wish that I had back."’
Bills Cough Up Loss To Jets 31-27
‘The Bills had a 2nd and 5 on the fateful play all they had to do was keep feeding Lynch the football and another first down may have wrapped up the game. Instead they inexplicitly go to the air! Losman showed his unbelievable lack of sensing the pressure and coughed up the football when you absolutely couldn’t.’
NY Jets 31, Buffalo 27
‘J.P. Losman started for Buffalo for the second straight week in place of Trent Edwards, who is dealing with a groin injury, and threw for 148 yards and one score on 24-of-39 passing. But his fumble led to Ellis’ TD and he threw an interception shortly thereafter — one of three picks during the contest — to help spoil the Bills’ chances.’
Bills fumble away win to Jets
‘Lynch had an inspired effort with 21 carries and 127 yards, but the two turnovers on two consecutive drives late by Losman ultimately cost Buffalo.’
Jauron, Bills bound through 2011
‘Much to the disappointment of Bills fans, the deal was signed and will last through the 2011 season, according to league sources.’
