‘Abram Elam joins the list of little-known, nondescript, all-time Bills killers. Don Nottingham, Norm Bulaich, Ron Smith, Jimmie Jones and Kevin Dyson are on that list. If you have a master’s degree in Bills history, you know the significance of those names all too well.’

Two-minute drilled: Turnaround shocks Bills
‘Shock, exasperation and anger were the prevailing emotions for the Bills afterward.’
O-line puts grindstone to Jets’ nose
‘”We had a score to settle, man,” center Duke Preston said. “After what the Jets did to us the last game, we wanted to get even. We went out with that purpose and we shoved it down their throats.”‘
Decision to fire Jauron should come to pass
‘”That’s mine,” Jauron said. “That goes straight on me. It clearly caused us to lose the game.”‘
Unbearable conclusion really comes as no surprise
‘Deep down, you knew. Sunday was just another chapter.’
Losman puts on brave face after fumble
‘”That’s the way it goes,” he said. “People can remember whatever they want to about this game. That’s this league, that’s the game itself. Sometimes you just don’t win when you’re supposed to, for whatever reason. It’s a funny shaped ball for a reason. It bounces weird ways sometimes.”‘
Bills-Jets report card
‘Coaching: F: Team played hard. But Jauron’s decision to have Losman throw was the kind of call that gets coaches fired. We can only hope.’
Buffalo Bills hand N.Y. Jets a win with just minutes remaining
‘”I, probably like most people, was thinking they were going to run the clock out,” said Jets quarterback Brett Favre. “All I could say was ‘Wow.’ There were several things on that play that make you scratch your head.”’
Buffalo Bills are a joke and Losman is the punch line
‘They bumble, they fumble, they stumble and in the end they humble their fan base, these Bills.’
Two-minute read
‘Bills RB Marshawn Lynch: He’s the last guy who should be accepting blame for anything in Buffalo. He had another good day with 127 yards rushing against a team that had held the Bills to 30 yards on the ground in the first meeting.’
Bills’ grades by position
‘COACHING – D: Dick Jauron said the rollout pass play was his call. Whether it was or not – Schonert said Jauron called it, too – it was horrible. And it cost the Bills the game. And it should cost Jauron his job. Maybe with Trent Edwards you make that call, but not with Losman, who is clueless when it comes to feeling pressure. Schonert’s game plan was committed to the run, but the lack of downfield throws was puzzling against a Jets defense that ranked 31st in the NFL in pass defense. Unbelievable. But in reality, what Schonert feared was Losman standing in the pocket looking downfield and then getting sacked. On defense, the Bills did a decent job against the pass, but breakdowns proved costly, especially on Washington’s TD run. As for special teams, Bobby April had his guys ready, but the Corto penalty was a killer.’
Jauron stays true to form ó good and bad
‘And on Sunday, he put his nobility on display for all to see.’
Bills fumble away chance for playoffs
‘”That goes right on me,” Jauron said. “It backfired, clearly, and caused us to lose the game.”‘
Hope floats no more as Bills fumble one away to Jets
‘Lynch was at times so effective against the Jets defence that the unit drew boos from the Meadowlands crowd before redeeming itself with the final turnaround. Had the Jets lost, rest assured that head coach Eric Mangini’s head today would be in even greater demand than Jauron’s.’
Unlikely TD in final 1:54 burns Buffalo
‘The play call left both sides shaking their heads. As Bills defensive tackle Marcus Stroud walked to the locker room he said, “Just run the (bleeping) ball” to a teammate.’
