‘Bills 19, Browns 16.’

‘”I think I am playing pretty well despite the little three-game losing streak we’re on right now, but that’s just a matter of everybody getting together and uniting to win a game,” Stroud said. “I’m healthy and feeling good, and I think those things are reflected in my play this year. Hopefully I can keep driving forward.”‘

‘As you might suspect, there are no difference-makers out there at this point in the year. The Bills added corner Dustin Fox to the practice squad this week. I think they should stick with the young cornerbacks they have, regardless.’

‘The Bills haven’t impressed at all when faced with quality opposition. They’ve beaten three 2-7 teams and two 4-5 ones; meanwhile, they fall to winners, as three of their losses have come to 6-3 teams with the other coming against the 5-4 Miami Dolphins.’

‘Where they are in the still-emerging playoff picture is on the fringe, not in the front row yet still very much within the frame and in focus. A win coupled with a loss by one the three teams ahed of them in the AFC East would do wonders to strengthen the brittle psyche of a near-miss sports town that has yet to capture a big league title of any kind.’

‘"Nothing does in life and certainly nothing does in football. It’s going to be up and down, you’re going to have highs and lows, you’re going to suffer a lot and get defeated a lot and the bottom line is how you come back. I don’t have any doubts about Trent Edwards. He’s going to be fine."’

‘I’m not advocating that he drop his trousers, a la Mike Singletary, to get his point across that his team is being embarrassed by the opposition. But it wouldn’t hurt to remind certain players that their jobs could be on the line if they don’t start making plays and cutting down on the mistakes that have transformed them into playoff pretenders.’

‘The teams over which Buffalo has gained its five victories are a collective 14-31, for a winning percentage of just .311. Conversely, the Bills’ four losses have come against teams with winning records: the 6-3 Arizona Cardinals, the Dolphins, Patriots and Jets, who are a combined 23-13, for a winning percentage of .639.’
