‘He says it, and says it and says it so often that you’re prone to believe him, but let the record now stand corrected, no matter how many times he’s regurgitated the line – Trent Edwards is not a confident quarterback.’

‘The game was billed as the Battle of Lake Erie but seemed more a comedy of errors, complete with turnovers, dropped passes, bad penalties and badly off-target passes. “It wasn’t all pretty, but it was good enough on this night,” Crennel said.’

‘Much of the blame for this loss falls on the shoulders of quarterback Trent Edwards, who threw three interceptions on his first four possessions, putting the Bills in a deep hole.’

‘It’s not clear how Greer was hurt, but it happened during the Browns’ 12-play, 96-yard drive that was capped by Joshua Cribbs’ 2-yard touchdown run that put Cleveland ahead 13-0. Greer made a tackle during the drive, stopping Braylon Edwards on an 18-yard catch.’

‘”When you turn the ball over a little bit, it’s tough,” said Edwards, who has committed 10 turnovers during Buffalo’s losing streak. “You start seeing things that you’re not really seeing, and you start doing things that you’re normally not used to doing.”‘

The safety and team defensive captain had other motivation to get back in the lineup, considering Buffalo was playing his hometown Browns in prime time.’

‘Recently, their running game has been non-existent (35 carries for a mere 90 yards the past two games), they can’t generate a pass rush (two sacks the past three starts), can’t get teams off the field on third down (16 conversions in the last 29 tries) and can’t stop turning the ball over (10 the past nine quarters: five interceptions, four fumbles and a safety).’

‘”Obviously, last year was very frustrating,” admitted Buffalo quarterback Trent Edwards, who endured a 13-of-33 passing day for 124 yards in blizzard conditions. “I’ve spoken with Lee (Evans) about this … we need to get these guys from last year, we owe them. They took away our chance of going to a playoff game and we still have that taste in our mouth.”‘
