‘Ryan Denney couldn’t believe his eyes when he looked across the line and saw no one on the Seattle field-goal team standing in front of him. "It was just like we drew it up," said Denney. With Buffalo leading 20-10 in the third quarter, Rian Lindell trotted out for a 37-yard field-goal attempt. Denney came out of the huddle and sauntered undetected out to the left sideline, and when holder Brian Moorman saw that, he took the snap, rose up and lofted a perfect 19-yard pass to Denney who made the catch and jogged untouched into the end zone. "We actually called it earlier in the first quarter, but we got the first down and decided to wait on it," said Denney. "We called it again and I was pretty excited about it. So far I haven’t dropped one. We’ve run it six or seven times in practice and I’ve been 100 percent."’

Stroud up next for uh-O line
‘"[Stroud] was fired up [to play Jacksonville] prior to what happened with the offensive line," Taylor said. "I’m sure he’s licking his chops now."’
Peters tells Buffalo Bills he is ‘ready to go’
‘"Jason is planning to play, but we won’t know that until we see him practice," said Jauron. "Playing a game is not the same as conditioning to come to camp. So we have to make sure that when we do activate him that he is ready to go football-wise and we don’t do that too soon."’
Was that opening day perfect for Buffalo Bills Nation?
‘The Bills made some big moves in the offseason to acquire defensive tackles Marcus Stroud and Spencer Johnson, linebacker Kawika Mitchell and cornerback Leodis McKelvin. The front office looked pretty good Sunday because everyone – with the exception of McKelvin who didn’t play much – had a great debut.’
AFC East Race Now WIDE Open
‘It’s still early, and there’s a lot of football to be played, but this is no longer a team looking to pick up the scraps. A LOT is right there, for the taking, and nobody should feel bad about feeling like this is a very GOOD thing.’
Special teams ignite Buffalo in opening win over Seattle
‘As Evans noted, “We started moving the ball and we hit some big plays (on offense), the defense did a good job pinning them down there and giving us field position and special teams as well. When you look at this game all three phases kicked in to get us points.”‘
Perfect time for ëMoorman to Morman’
‘”Those plays, as you know, a lot of people come on and off the field,” said coach Dick Jauron. “You have to come onto the field to be legal … he’s got to go in and report inside the numbers (on the field) to be legal. So he goes in and reports and then he just kind of walks away.”‘
Seahawks could do little right
‘”We got kicked around pretty good today,” said Mike Holmgren, who opened his final season as the Seahawks’ head coach. “Give the Bills credit. I think they did a great job and we have a lot of work to do. I think it’s one of those games that we’re going to learn a painful lesson from. But we’ll be better next week.”‘
Parrish makes a record return
‘It also moved him past his own single-game record total of 104 yards set against Jacksonville in 2006. He finished the game with 120 punt return yards and 1,110 for his career. In addition, the TD tied Parrish with Keith Moody (1976-79) for most career punt return touchdowns with three.’
Bills sign OT Denman to practice squad
‘Denman had been the Buccaneers’ seventh-round draft pick out of Fresno State, but was released as part of the team’s final cuts on Aug. 31. To make room on their practice squad, the Bills released offensive lineman Dustin Dickinson.’
Bills Report Card vs Seattle
‘Just another Ho-hum Bills blowout. Sure. We don’t see a lot of those, do we? Could the Bills have played better than they did on Sunday? Sure. But is there room to complain. I don’t think so.’
Bills make practice squad move
‘To make room on the practice squad for Denman, Buffalo waived offensive lineman Dustin Dickinson.’
Bills LT Peters back and ready to play
‘Drenched in sweat after a heavy workout Monday, Peters says he’s "100 percent ready to go and glad to be back." He says he ended the holdout and reported to the Bills on Saturday after receiving certain assurances that the team is open to restructuring the three years left on his contract.’
Peters playing status to be determined
‘”Jason is planning to play, but we don’t know that until we see him practice and we won’t know how he practices and what kind of shape he’s in until late in the week,” said Jauron. “Jason is probably in very good shape, but he’s probably not in very good football shape and there’s a big difference between those two. It’s not the same as working out. Playing a game is not the same as conditioning to come to camp. We have to make sure that when we do activate him that he is ready to go football-wise.”‘
Bills have special season opener
“It was as good as could be expected in all phases of the game,” said Dick Jauron, Buffalo head coach. “I can’t say enough about the preparation of our staff and our players just performed. We played hard the whole game.”‘
