How much will run defense improve?
‘Not surprisingly, the linchpin is Stroud. "He can change a game," said Paul Posluszny of Stroud. "When we’ve got a guy like that who is able to control the line of scrimmage like he is able to especially inside, it’s really going to help us out, especially the linebackers. It’s going to be two different worlds having a guy like him up front controlling the line of scrimmage."’
Time to settle the score with Bills’ Reed
‘But the dissenting view is that he hasn’t generated enough positive instances of either the fantastic or steady variety to have secured a job, much less a high percentage of snaps. This is a huge summer for him if he wants to secure a place in a suddenly crowded wideout pool, as the other scenario would be that this is finally the year when Reed falls victim to a shocking but not unforeseen roster slashing.’

Bills sign draft pick Johnson
‘Johnson, signed Tuesday, becomes the fifth of Buffalo’s 10 draft picks to sign a contract.’
Will Trent Edwards excel?
‘"I feel more comfortable with my role amongst this team and knowing people’s names now and knowing personalities and knowing myself a little bit better too," said Edwards. "It comes down to relationships in this sport and a lot of it is based on trust. You’ve got to trust that Jason Peters is going to make that block, you’ve got to trust that Lee Evans is going to run 18 yards. Last year at this time I was just trying to stick on as the three here. I was a third round pick from California just trying to get used to Buffalo. Now it’s a much different role and a much different responsibility."’
Bills sign wide receiver Johnson
‘Buffalo has half of their draft class under contract as seventh-round pick Steve Johnson signed with the club on Tuesday. The wide receiver was the second of three seventh-round selections by the Bills.’
In a way, Bills’ Lynch was ahead of the pack
‘In the midst of a rocky quarterback transition, Lynch played at a calmly established level, a truth reflected in how many times per contest his number got called. With this team’s maturing passing aspect, he could find his per-game carries decline yet see his average increase, as he’d reap the benefits of bearing the load during the building of this offense’s foundation. Lynch did much of the work to improve this year’s offense last fall.’
Everett throws a tee party
‘”Later on down the line, hopefully one year I’ll be able to be out there,” Everett said.’
Johnson’s First Completion as a Pro
‘Johnson and Lynch were able to start the Family First Football Camp last year as Lynch entered his rookie year as a first-round draft pick. Now Johnson is a full-fledged partner as an NFL quarterback. “We’ll have more kids this year — about 400 from elementary school age to high school,” Johnson said. “It was a lot of fun last year, and it will be more fun this year. I’m looking forward to it.”‘
Will McKelvin be a regular returner?
‘"Well, over the last three to four years we had exceptional production from our return game and we’ve got pretty much the same guys back," April said. "There have been some other guys that have contributed in the returns, but with Roscoe and Terrence, that’s a lot of production. That’s a lot of big plays that they’ve brought."’
Kevin Everett hosts fundraiser to help others with spinal cord injuries
‘Everett said, "This is where I got my start, fulfilled my dream of being an NFL player. So I feel obligated to come back and do something for the community."’
