‘There are a plethora of factors for anyone trying to figure out who should be credited for what successful attack on the football’s possessor, just as there are numerous restrictions on using the stat as the primary method for measuring defenders such as the quality of each player’s 10 coworkers. Still, a look at the Buffalo Bills’ tackle ranking in 2007 provides a fair picture of what the defense accomplished plus where it needs to improve.’

The NFL will bring excitement.’

‘”I was just frustrated because I wanted to play so bad,” he said. “I wanted to come in and start and do the best job I could at middle linebacker. They traded up for me in the draft, brought me here to play middle linebacker, play right away, and then I kind of failed them. I got hurt and wasn’t able to live up to the expectations of what I was supposed to do, so that was just tough to deal with.”‘

They’re going to unveil a local initiative with Toronto area high schools, the kind of thing the CFL and NFL used to partner together. This made-for-media event is being staged a full two months before the first Bills’ game here, but two days before the Argos’ pre-season game against the Ticats. It will be spread across radio, TV and the local bugles today and tomorrow, the 48 hours when most walk-up sales are made for CFL games. Still think this bunch doesn’t want to damage the Argonauts?’

‘Joe DeLamielleure, a former Bills guard now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, said Lynch can still repair the damage that his image has suffered since the traffic incident. “Marshawn needs to do the right thing. . . . Face up to it like a man. Go and tell the truth,” DeLamielleure told The Buffalo News. “Whether he or someone else was driving, he needs to go to the police, tell them what happened. . . . Young men make mistakes, and he’s still at a point where Buffalo fans would forgive him if he tells the truth. The longer this [investigation] drags on, the worse it is for him.”‘
