‘In today’s money-mad NFL, it would probably cost Buffalo more than $25 million to lock up Evans for around five years, but the team should look into giving him an up-to-date contract now nonetheless. If not, the Bills could be regretting it when Evans voids his original accord after two more seasons and becomes a bigger star elsewhere.’

‘The Buffalo Bills have secured two partnership pacts — one that aids the team’s players and another that assists area students.’

‘Marv Levy, the general manager of the Buffalo Bills, will be the featured speaker, as well as one of three recipients of honorary degrees. The others will be Thomas Baker, former president of the John R. Oishei Foundation, and New York Assemblyman Robin Schimminger, D-Kenmore.’

‘This year marks the first time that the enshrinement ceremony is scheduled for the evening hours. The enshrinement ceremony takes place in Fawcett Stadium which is located directly across the street from the Hall of Fame. The cost per ticket for seats on the floor is $52.00 and sideline stadium seats are available for $26.00 per ticket.’

‘The Buffalo Bills announced today that the team has signed a sponsorship deal with Enlyten, Inc., a division of HealthSport, Inc. (HSPO) created to market and distribute the Enlyten SportStrips. This multi-year deal makes the Enlyten SportStrips the official SportStrip of the Bills. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.’

‘The Friday night game will be shown by CBS (Ch. 4) Aug. 10 and has an 8 p.m. start. The Saints were runners-up in the National Football Conference last season. The trip will be the first for Bills quarterback J.P. Losman back to the Louisiana Superdome, where he played college football for Tulane University.’

‘The Bills will play their first exhibition game in New Orleans, where Losman starred at Tulane, on Friday, Aug. 10. The game will be televised nationally by CBS.’

‘In the end, Michael Turner could make the team that acquires him look brilliant. Perhaps that will be the Bills, led by General Manager Marv Levy.’

‘The first day of the 2007 Draft will be extremely important for a Bills team that cut ties with the likes of running back Willis McGahee, linebackers Takeo Spikes and London Fletcher-Baker, and cornerback Nate Clements during the offseason. At least one of those holes will probably filled prior to the draft, with a possible trade for San Diego backup running back Michael Turner being speculated about at present.’

‘NFL regular season schedules will be released this week.’

‘Buffalo will host Atlanta and Tennessee in the second and third preseason weeks. The preseason schedule concludes with a trip to Detroit to face the Lions in week four.’
