‘Villarrial, an 11-year veteran, has struggled with injuries the past several seasons. He missed the final seven games of the 2006 season after surgery to repair an overextended tendon in his right ankle.’

‘NFL Network’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Takeo Spikes is being placed on the trading block by the Buffalo Bills.’

‘"It isn’t likely we’ll bring in that many," said Marv Levy in reference to the team’s free agent signings last spring. "I think we can be more specific. Our staff that was here didn’t know the current players on the team as well as they know them now. It’s not very likely that we’ll have as many signings. Maybe we get four guys."’

‘Villarrial was set to enter the final year of a four-year contract with the Bills that he signed back in the 2004 offseason. The offensive lineman was the starting right guard for the club as soon as he arrived in Buffalo, but the past two seasons Villarrial had trouble staying healthy as injuries began to catch up with the 11-year veteran.’
