‘Just as quickly as Losman got the Bills back in the game, he took them out of it with a bad-decision pass that Ravens cornerback Chris McAlister returned 31 yards for a touchdown to restore Baltimore’s nine-point lead with 3:46 left in the third quarter.’

Buffalo Bills report card
‘Dick Jauron and his staff coached well enough to keep the game close against another superior, playoff-bound opponent. But the conservative approach won’t inspire story or song.’
Breakdown by Quarter
‘The good – Buffalo receiver Lee Evans outfights Baltimore safety Dawan Landry for a 52-yard reception at the Baltimore 4-yard line, giving the Bills hope. The bad – Baltimore’s Samari Rolle picks off Losman on the very next play, dashing the Bills’ hopes.’
No place to run
‘Needing only 33 yards rushing to capture a third straight 1,000 yard season, Buffalo Bills’ running back McGahee was rendered completely ineffective as the Ravens’ defense held him to 23 yards on only 11 carries. From the beginning of the game, the Ravens’ defensive line and linebackers dominated the line of scrimmage as McGahee ran very tentatively and was hesitant to hit his holes.’
Bills Post-Game
‘”We really fought hard and we just didn’t make the plays that we needed to make. Credit goes out to them [Ravens], they are a heck of a football team. They do what they have too to win and they are playing with a lot of confidence right now. They have a tremendous defense with a good offense. We knew coming in that Steve McNair was close to the record and to share that record is really an achievement. Unfortunately, I’ve seen a lot of McNair, and that’s the way he plays. He just finds a way to win. My hats off to them and the job they did. I have great respect for our players and coaches for how hard they worked. I believe we’ve come a long way. We are obviously disappointed to not be moving on, and that’s our goal.”‘

Bills’ offense dominated by Ravens; owner wants changes
‘”We’ve gotta get some offensive line help,” Wilson — who praised Losman’s toughness — told media members in the locker room following the game.’
Bills Finish 7-9
‘In a game almost completely devoid of offense, the Buffalo Bills lost their NFL season finale 19-7 at Baltimore.’
Bills Lose Finale To Ravens, Playoffs Set
‘The Bills rushing attack struggled all day as the Ravens yielded only 39 yards rushing to put a pretty bow on the finest regular season in franchise history. Willis McGahee finished with just 23 yards.’
Bills Team Report
‘MLB London Fletcher, CB Nate Clements and DE Chris Kelsay are due to become free agents. If the team thinks LB Takeo Spikes won’t return to top form, it might release him and spend the money it saves on Fletcher. Clements’ desire to be the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL virtually ensures he won’t be back. The team needs an interior defensive lineman with size, quickness and familiarity with the defensive end spot. Chicago’s Ian Scott could be a candidate. Offensively, the question marks are at offensive line and receiver.’
Grades Not Strong In Finale Loss
‘Runng backs…Grade F-: 26 yards from this unit is just pathetic.’
Ravens Too Much For Bills 19-7
‘They surprised a lot of people with their progress this year, it shouldn’t have surprised anyone that they went down fighting.’
Baltimore 19, Buffalo 7
‘Baltimore outgained Buffalo by more than 100 yards in the first half (177-72), but led by only 6-0 at the break.’
Baltimore 19, Buffalo 7
‘Lee Evans hauled in seven passes for 145 yards and a score for the Bills (7-9), who finished with their fourth losing season in the past six years.’
Bills Can’t Pull Off .500 Record in 19-7 Loss to Ravens
‘Buffalo was able to set themselves up with a 1st-and-goal situation at the Baltimore five-yard line after Losman hit Evans with a 52-yard bomb on 4th-and-four near midfield. But on 1st-and-goal Losman tried to force it in to Evans on a quick slant and Samari Rolle had inside positioning and intercepted the pass in the end zone. Rolle then returned it 44-yards before being tackled out of bounds by Losman.’
