Bills Team Report
‘TE Kevin Everett hasn’t lived up to the expectations the team had when it drafted him in the third round in 2005. Everett has caught one pass this year and has struggled as a blocker at the point of attack. He has dropped to third on the depth chart.’
All Three Units Contribute To Upset Win
‘J.P. Losman: Grade A-: He is coming of age right before our eyes.’
Bills Pull Out Another Thrilling Win 27-24
‘J.P. Losman – Two game winning drives in a row. He is coming of age.’
Bills pull out another waning moment victory
‘”I got to pick either side on that play based on the coverage,” said Losman. “It was kind of a two-on-two with the high safety over the top. They sat underneath Roscoe at first on the corner route and the line did a great job of giving me enough time to scramble around a little bit and Roscoe slipped him, I saw a little opening and tried it. And Roscoe made a great catch and got his feet down.” “I saw J.P. scrambling so I worked my way around to get open,” said Parrish of the catch that put the Bills in field goal range. “J.P. did a good job throwing the ball and I just did my best to keep my feet inbounds.”‘
Lindell Gives The Bills’ 27-24 Win Against Jaguars
‘The Jaguars tied the game 24-24 with just :28 left as David Garrard connected with Matt Jones in the endzone for a 3-yard touchdown; his first of the season. The Bills’ offense didn’t give up as Losman rolled left and completed a pass to Parrish for a 30-yard gain; the play was reviewed and ruled a complete pass as Parrish managed to drag both feet on the ground. The field position was good enough for a 42-yard field goal attempt by Lindell to give the Bills a 27-24 win.’
Buffalo 27, Jacksonville 24
‘Losman, who finished 21-of-28 for 169 yards, rallied the Bills back. After a 6-yard completion to Parrish, the quarterback stepped up in the pocket and threw to the left sideline for Parrish, who kept both toes in bounds to make the catch just in front of Scott Starks. Officials ruled Parrish had both feet in and video replays proved inconclusive. After a Losman run, which positioned the ball in the middle of the field, Lindell split the uprights.’
Buffalo 27, Jacksonville 24
‘Buffalo, though, gained possession at its own 40-yard line, and on 2nd-and-4, Losman connected with Roscoe Parrish along the left sideline for a 30-yard pass. The catch was reviewed by the officials and upheld as replays showed Parrish got both feet inbounds to setup Lindell’s winning kick.’
Bills RB McGahee returns to lineup
‘Bills receiver Josh Reed was inactive for the third straight week, and is still recovering from a bruised kidney sustained in the Green Bay game.’
Jaguars pose tougher test for J.P.
‘Houston’s defense ranks 28th in the NFL. Jacksonville’s defense ranks third. Houston was playing without both of its starting defensive tackles. Jacksonville boasts two Pro Bowlers in the middle of its line – Marcus Stroud and John Henderson. The Jaguars have played four of the top six offenses in the NFL this year, and they’ve held them to an average of 11 ppg.’
Jags’ sturdy defense will test Bills’ passing and running attacks
‘Bills, 16-13.’
A slice of real life
‘”I make the pizza, work the deep fryer, work the cash register, sweep up, whatever,” Anderson said last week. “I don’t just sit in the office. I get out, get dirty, make food, take orders. Making the customers happy is our No. 1 goal. We do our best to accommodate them.”‘
Fans want O.J. off Wall of Fame
‘”We put [Simpson] up there for football,” Wilson told Buffalo News columnist Jerry Sullivan last week. “I feel the same way about him as you and most people do. But it’s up there. Why start more controversy?”‘
Infamy can’t erase Simpson’s fame
‘I understand the temper of the community, but it says here that taking his name down from the Bills’ Wall of Fame would be an act of foolish fury. There is a precedent for cooler heads to prevail in such a situation.’
Playoff hopes alive, but big test looms
‘Losman is eager to build on what many have called his “breakout” game. “I hope it is so everything will blow up from here on out,” he said. “I think it definitely helps. It would help any player and it definitely helps the team.”‘
