‘”It’s an internal organ and there are things that are happening inside that can lead to internal bleeding,” Reed said. “That is something you don’t want to play with when it’s a vital organ. You don’t want to be timid and worry about getting hit on it again. It will heal in time. You just have to take your time with it.”‘

Losman’s confidence continues to grow
‘One indication that Losman is getting better is his fourth-quarter passer rating. Losman’s rating of 103.8 is fifth among NFL quarterbacks for the final period. Losman is 51-of-77 (66.2 percent) for 540 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions.’
Inside slant
‘"We haven’t been able to hook up for a lot of reasons," said Losman, alluding to things like a change in coaching staffs and his on again, off again status as the team’s starting quarterback last season. "I thought me and Lee would’ve hooked up a lot more this year, we have a great connection, but we haven’t. We’re trying to get the ball to him; he’s our No. 1 guy and we’re trying to connect on down-the-field passes."’
Strategy and personnel
‘"Willis is a hard worker. He does whatever he can so he has worked hard but he’s missed time," coach Dick Jauron said. "So it’s going to affect him in terms of conditioning. He’ll have to get used to the twisting and turning. He’ll have to wear some special protection, obviously, which he wore today. He’s starting to get used to that. But he did a nice job. Now we’ll just have to see how it translates into what he can do tomorrow and all through the week."’
Notes, quotes
‘"I don’t have any sense of that type of feeling in our building. Maybe media members have it. We respect the teams we go against. We respect the Bills. We did not beat Houston in two attempts. They did that in Houston. Obviously they got something done that we couldn’t do. We’ll prepare like we do every week and meet the challenge." — Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio on whether his team could possibly take the Bills lightly.’

Bills still unsure if McGahee, Reed will face Jags
‘McGahee still has pain in his ribs, and he knows if he takes a shot to the ribcage during the game, it’s going to hurt. The question is, how much pain can he tolerate and would coming back too soon put him at risk of further injury? "I don’t know," McGahee said when asked whether he thought he would be able to play.’
Tomlinson could set mark for TDs when the Chargers play the Bills
‘Tomlinson has 23 TDs in 10 games, including an amazing 19 in the last 6 games. The NFL single-season TD record is 28, set by Seattle’s Shaun Alexander last year.’
Bills Get Blackout Extension
‘The Buffalo Bills now have until Friday at 1 p.m. to sell out Sunday’s home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars to lift the television blackout.’
McGahee and Reed questionable
‘Reed, who has missed the past two games with a kidney injury, had appeared in Buffalo’s previous eight games and caught 23 balls for 229 yards and one touchdown.’
Bills RB McGahee returns to practice but listed as questionable
‘"It’s going to affect him in terms of conditioning and he’ll have to get used to the twisting and turning," Jauron said.’
Plenty to stuff yourself with this holiday
‘Lee Evans. The Bills can’t seem to find a quarterback, but they keep restocking the wideout shelf. Eric Moulds was good, but Evans is even more fun because he rarely catches a case of the drops and knows how to dangle once he gets the ball.’
Bills Team Even Tighter Going Forward
‘"Absolutely," said head coach Dick Jauron when asked if the dramatic win over Houston can unify his team further. "This is a tight team, but winning has a way of bringing people even closer together. The more you win, it seems the closer teams get. I know this team has a lot of character and we haven’t won consistently. So, if and when we put those wins together consistently, I think it will make it even better. It makes it a much better atmosphere."’
McGahee Practices, Questionable for Sunday
‘”I’m alright,” said McGahee after practice. “It’s painful, but you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.”‘
Jacksonville (6-4) at Buffalo (4-6)
‘The Jaguars enter the week ranked third in the NFL in total defense (279.9 yards per game) and scoring defense (13.7 points per game), but their defense has not performed at its peak on the road. Jacksonville has gone 5-1 at home while giving up a total of only 47 points over the six games, but has allowed an average of 22.5 points and 332.3 yards while going 1-3 as a visitor this season.’
