‘J.P. Losman was magnificent in silencing his critics with a career performance when he and his team needed it the most. He threw for 340 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner with nine seconds left. He shook off a brutal interception, handled the two-minute drive like a salty veteran, and made Bills’ history with two 80-plus yard pass plays, both for touchdowns. So this is what a quarterback with time to throw looks like. He may be a keeper after all.’

Evans is player of the game; quarter recap
‘Wow. That’s about all we can say about the first quarter that Evans had, torching the Houston defense for two 83-yard touchdowns. He finished the day with 11 catches for a franchise-high 265 yards, passing Jerry Butler’s 1979 mark in the process. Let’s say it again. Wow.’
Q&A with Bills DRE Aaron Schobel
‘Do you like the new defensive scheme? Schobel: Yeah. Like I said, it fits me. I’m able to use my speed. It puts me in better pass-rushing situations. Like I said earlier in the year, if I don’t get a lot of sacks this year, it’s on me because I’m being given the opportunity.’
Family memory: The real Bills
‘In his mind’s eye, he still sees visions of Jim Kelly scanning the field, tossing strikes to Andre Reed. He sees Thurman slithering through the line of scrimmage, dashing 20 yards in an instant. He sees Bruce Smith and Cornelius Bennett converging mercilessly upon the helpless opposing quarterback. When my sons think of the Bills, they don’t think of J.P. Losman dropping back to pass, getting squashed like a beetle, losing the ball onto the carpet. My sons think that Terrence Pennington was the name of a villain in a James Bond movie. And Robert Royal might be a new flavor of ice cream.’
Losman Leads Bills Past Texans
‘Evans and Losman were outstanding in the first quarter, connecting for 205 yards and two 83-yard touchdowns. Evans’ first-quarter performance was a Buffalo record for a period and just shy of the NFL record for yards receiving in a quarter of 210 by Baltimore’s Qadry Ismail in 1999.’
In victory, Losman may have turned the corner
‘When the Bills play the Jacksonville Jaguars this coming Sunday, it will be interesting to see how Losman performs. For the first time in his 18-start career, it appeared the young QB finally won over his skeptical veteran teammates. We’ll see just how much he has in Week 12 and beyond.’
