‘Afterward, Buffalo coach Dick Jauron, always metered in his praise, admitted of Losman, “I think he’s going to be a good player. We’ve still got a way to go, but you can see his athletic ability, his toughness and you can see his arm and his accuracy as it improves every game.”‘

Bills vs. Texans
‘Hopefully we are getting a glimpse of the Bills future with this line. They now have a line that’s young and may be able to develop together for the rest of the season. I liked Chris Villarrial, but I’ve always thought Duke Preston has tremendous character, and appears to be a hard-worker. It’s clear the coaches like his work ethic as well, after all they passed over Tutan Reyes to put Preston in Villarrial’s spot.’
Losman produces surprising ending
‘At 4-6, Buffalo’s season remains alive, if only just. But if playoff scenarios aren’t quite realistic, the possibility that Losman might be around for longer than some might like is.’
Losman shines in defining moment
‘"(The coaches) gave me a chance to spread the ball around doing some things, and the offensive line did a great job protecting me," Losman said.’
Second Down: Week 11
‘Evans day was the 11th most receiving yards in a game in league history.’
Bills Dynamic Duo Put Up Career Day
‘”We knew coming into the game that they wanted to put pressure on us,” said Evans of the Texans’ defense. “We knew that they took chances and went one (safety) high, bump and run coverage. So it was imperative for us as receivers to beat man coverage and make big plays down the field. We did a good job and it started with the offensive line. They gave J.P. a lot of time and J.P. stepped up and made the throws. It was just tremendous to execute down in and down out especially early in the game.”‘
Clements’ play resonates
‘Johnson entered the game as the NFL’s leader in catches and second in yards. But with Clements shadowing him all day, Johnson finished with 76 yards on six receptions. Not bad numbers, but not enough to make a significant impact. “I just wanted to stay focused on technique,” Clements said. “They do a lot of things with him. I knew he was going to get the ball. Whatever the defensive call was I just tried to play to the strength of the defense and go from there.”‘
Busting loose
‘Finally, after five straight miserable offensive performances, the Bills (4-6) showed they’re capable of playing entertaining offensive football. Make that record-breaking football.’
Evans’ big receiving day is one for the books
‘”It’s special,” Evans said. “It’s hard to put it into words, but it’s truly special. I’m honored to be in those ranks. It’s good to celebrate in a win with my teammates.”‘
Texans’ wounds self-inflicted
‘”I knew he had speed,” Faggins said. “I’ve been playing five years [in the NFL], I’ve got to know it. The first one was a hitch-and-go. The second one we were in man, and he just ran past me and they lobbed the ball down there.”‘
Puffed up with pride, Losman wears it well
‘The coaches, who had used a timid offensive game plan against the Colts, allowed Losman to open up things against the Texans. If they’re going to find out about Losman, they need to turn him loose. Steve Fairchild, the offensive coordinator, told Losman to let it fly Sunday, and he got rewarded.’
A special delivery from J.P. to Price
‘”As a kid, that’s your dream,” Losman said of directing a last-second game-winning drive, which he has now done exactly once in his brief NFL career. “Game on the line, this is the last play, no matter what happens we have to complete this ball. And making those catches, I’m sure Peerless has that dream, too.”‘
Losman marches forward with his Texas two-step
‘”It’s big for a young quarterback, it builds confidence and character and prepares him for, when we’re in that situation again, he knows what to do,” Price said.’
Play of Clements deserves pay
‘Is that the kind of player you want to see leave?’
The two-minute read
‘Cornerback Nate Clements’ swatting the ball away on a third-and-two pass from David Carr to Andre Johnson was the key play and gave Buffalo the ball back with a chance to win.’
