‘Starting guard Chris Villarrial is out for Buffalo’s game this weekend at Houston and could miss the rest of the year because of a severe right ankle injury.’

Four out vs. Texans; Villarrial perhaps for year
‘Jauron said the Bills plan to use J.P. Losman’s mobility more as the season moves on, and that Losman can take off when he feels the need. “When it breaks down, he’s got the green light to run,” he said. “What we don’t want him to do is run as the first option. He’s done a real nice job of not running as the first option. I do believe in time that he’ll run more. As things go along, we would like to bootleg him more, not necessarily sprint out, but he can do all those things.”‘
Villarrial Could Be Out for Season
‘"The tendon moves some and crosses the ankle and it is painful," said head coach Dick Jauron. "They’ve looked at it and he’s definitely not playing this week. And there’s a good chance he won’t play for the rest of the year."’
Bills Pro Bowl Punter Continues to Excel
‘The question now is can Moorman pull off the impossible, a 40-yard net average for an entire season? Since the statistic was first recorded in 1976, no punter in league history has been able to post a 40-yard average for a season. Mike Horan, who punted for the Giants back in 1993, came the closest with a 39.9-yard net average.’
Scouting the Bills
‘Losman, the team’s first round pick in 2004, was chosen to succeed Drew Bledsoe and become the club’s long term solution at quarterback. Thus far, there have been only flashes of the excitement Losman generated coming out of Tulane University and many believe the time has almost run out on his era with the Bills. While his inconsistency is maddening for the team because they know he has the talent, it’s the fact he tries to do too much instead of letting the game come to him that often hurts the team because it often leads to turnovers.’
Another Ugly Loss
Bills’ Youboty ready to turn corner
‘"He’s real close," said Jauron about Youboty. "I guess, to be perfectly honest, he was a strong consideration this week with the injuries we had and then, the way we rotate and play up front defensively, in an indoor game, in the heat with some of the bruises we had up front, we thought it would be in our best interest to have Jason up. . . . We’d like to get him up, it’s a question of how."’

Pupils get a kick out of Moorman
‘Moorman showed some diplomatic skills during a question-and-answer period, saying he likes everyone on the team but his best friend is kicker Rian Lindell. Who is the better quarterback, J.P. Losman or Drew Bledsoe? “They’re both very good.”‘

How bad is Buffalo’s O-line?
‘That said, though, it doesn’t mean plenty of those 30 sacks allowed weren’t Losman’s fault. Throughout the season, especially over the last five weeks, the 25-year-old’s lack of poise in the pocket has been a major detriment to the offense. There have been instances in which Losman’s had plenty of time to throw, but he’s held onto the ball too long and created sacks on his own.’
In Our Spare Time
‘Defensive end Aaron Schobel; “I like to eat food. If I could do that for a living I would be a wealthy person.” “Anything in particular?” Schobel; “No. Just carbs, fried stuff, whatever. Sweets. I like it all.”‘
Bills Star Tells Kids to Hit the Books
‘Buffalo Bills Punter Brian Moorman picked up the fourth grader and his sister Christina in a limo and took him to his homeroom at Saint Gregory the Great in Williamsville.’

‘Bills 21, Texans 20.’
Bills Must Solve Woes on Offense
‘It can be argued that three sacks a game over a season isn’t an exorbitant figure. But since J.P. has gone back to pass only 254 times, it means that once every dozen passing attempts, he winds up on his butt … and that’s not good.’
