‘”It’s disturbing,” receiver Peerless Price said. “To me, personally, it’s more disturbing than losing to Chicago. Chicago just beat us. This game, we felt like we had opportunities to make plays and win. And we didn’t do it.”‘

Bills stumble in Motown
‘And, again, the score was deceptive. The Lions never trailed, twice were up by 10, outgained the Bills in yardage 394-242 and all afternoon made Buffalo quarterback J.P. Losman look like the struggling, uncertain player he was a year ago.’
Bills take a step back in loss to Lions
‘”They were a better football team than their record, but I don’t really know if everybody (else) took that to heart coming into this game.”‘
Bills’ offensive line keeps Losman on the run
‘Gandy would be best playing inside. He struggled a lot a year ago, but with left tackles not easy to find in the draft or free agency, the Bills did not address the position. GM Marv Levy’s next order of business will be finding a left tackle, which could allow Gandy to kick back inside where he is better-suited to play, and give the Bills more depth inside. Until then, the Bills may have to max-protect more than they would like, forcing backs and tight ends to help their struggling line with blocking assignments.’
Patriots travel to Buffalo to battle the Bills
‘The Patriots’ 52 wins over Buffalo are their most over any opponent…’.
Bills turn downright annoying in loss
‘The Bills called for 42 passing plays and just 18 planned runs.’
Duke Preston
‘On expectations of the team diminishing outside the building – We’re not really too concerned about expectation of us outside of here. We come to work everyday knowing what we want to accomplish. Going out each Sunday trying to get a win, we’re fighting, scratching and clawing. The last couple weeks we came up short,’
London Fletcher-Baker
‘As a football club with a new team, new regime, new players, you have to understand that each week is going to be different. We start out 2-2 and a lot of people are talking highly about us. You’re only as good as your last ball game. You can’t get caught up in what people are saying, good or bad. You have to go out and play the game on Sunday.’
Redskins Sign Vincent, Add to DB Depth
‘The Redskins have added a veteran presence to the secondary with the signing of defensive back Troy Vincent on Monday.’
Head Coach Dick Jauron
‘About the game yesterday, in light of the entire weekend, it was maybe even more disappointing. We know what our city and our area are going through from this storm because we’ve been going through the same thing with our own families. We were hoping this game could bring a little sunshine into the community, but it didn’t. The fact is we didn’t play well enough to win and they beat us over there. Disappointed in the outcome, but not disappointed in the effort. Our effort is pretty consistently good, practice wise and game wise. We lack consistency in our play offensively and defensively.’
Bills vs. Lions
‘One of the worst parts of Losman’s regression on Sunday was his post-game comments. It was the first time all year that I heard him have that incredibly smug attitude that we heard much of last year. I thought he had grown out of that arrogance. Most of this year he has sounded like a quarterback who was a leader, taking the rap for the bad times and deflecting the praise to his teammates during the good times. Sunday he went back to talking down to the media, and making excuses. It wasn’t just Losman’s pocket presence that took a hit; it was also his presence as the face of the franchise in front of the media.’
How You Lose to the Lions
‘The Lions are a bad team. But they were pretty desperate to get their first win. They also had the lead in second half in 4 of their 5 losses coming in and found a way to lose. But the Bills should have been just as desperate. A win would have taken away the sting of the Bears blowout. A win would have gotten them back to .500. A win would have fired up Western New York with the Patriots coming to town Sunday. But a loss makes you feel like the early season progress was just a mirage. Maybe that’s not fair. But that’s the way a loss to the Lions can make you feel.’
Rams dump Hargrove for draft pick
‘The Rams fined Hargrove for missing both days of practice; under the collective bargaining agreement, he could be fined a maximum of $20,000 a day.’
Bills acquire DE Hargrove
‘The 6-foot-3, 272-pound Hargrove started 19 of the 35 games he played with the Rams and amassed eight career sacks. In 2006, Hargrove had five tackles and one-half sack in four games with St. Louis.’
Rams trade Hargrove to Buffalo
‘Defensive end Anthony Hargrove, who lost his starting job with the St. Louis Rams after skipping two days of practice and meetings, was traded Monday to the Buffalo Bills for a fifth-round draft choice in 2007.’
