‘Following a victory, a gameball would usually be handed out to a member of the Bills’ special teams. Thanks to a less-than-average day against the Vikings, however, that won’t happen for any of Bobby April’s players. Buffalo needs to hope that group can rebound for next week, because they’ll be extremely important against the 4-0 Bears on Sunday.’

‘On the defensive pressure – Our line did a heck of a job flushing the pocket and making Johnson roll out and move his feet. The defensive backs did a nice job of making him hold the ball. They worked hand in hand. The guys did a great job.’

‘On Bills’ Offense and their big plays – Yes, this offense is coming together. I stated along time ago that this offense has a lot of play makers. I feel comfortable with JP throwing the ball to anybody and Willis running the ball over anybody, I think we have a lot of play makers on this team and we have to use a lot of guys and keep getting the other guys involved.’

‘On being 2-2 and the team’s outlook – I believe so, coming into the season our goal was winning the division. We are a little behind right now. But I know we have the talent and the personnel to go out there and do it.’

‘On people thinking the Bills have not proven they can stop the run – I don’t think so, that’s one of our goals is to go out and stop the run. Trying to make teams one dimensional and it’s a lot easier to play when you know what they are going to do.’

‘On the nearly completed long pass on the last drive by Minnesota – It’s frustrating, but it’s not like we haven’t seen it before, people make plays. At least he didn’t catch it putting them in position to having more time to score. That stuff happens; we just have to make the right corrections.’

‘Opening thoughts – It was a great football game for us and our fans certainly played a part in it. You give them something to cheer about and they are clearly a factor in the game. They kept us going when things looked a little bit shaky there at the end. Our defense did a terrific job keeping them in bounds during the last part of the game and, for the most part, kept everything in front of them. JP (Losman) played a strong game. They’re a good football team. We knew we would struggle a little bit running the ball against them. They’re big and strong inside and we lost Chris (Villarrial) early. I thought that Steve (Fairchild) showed good patience with the run. We just kept at it and stayed in the game.’

‘On sticking with the run consistently today – That’s the way it’s got to go, to take the pressure off of the receivers and it brings the safeties down in the box. We expected that and we were going to keep going at them.’

‘On finishing the first quarter of the season 2-2 – It’s not great but it’s a decent start, we can start over with the next quarter, the next four games and win those.’

‘On the Bills defense shutting down short passes this week – We read the routes and played them, and we tried as much as possible to keep the offense confused.’

‘On JP Losman growing up over last weeks game – He did, because it was a game where we felt like we had control, but now it is about finishing. So I think right there us as a team we grew because it was a game we felt we had control of and we also finished it. It was from the quarterbacks perspective on managing the game and the defense played outstanding.’

J.P. Losman – Grade A: He is really becoming a quality NFL starter.
