‘Phillips, a 2004 Geneva High School graduate and Buffalo Jill, appears in the September issue of FHM (For Him Magazine) in a cheerleader contest as a part of the national magazine’s NFL preview. She and nine other NFL cheerleaders were named to an all-FHM cheerleading team and are competing for bragging rights as America’s "sexiest" cheerleader.’

‘"He’s entitled to speak his mind … and he felt that was his forum to do so," Vincent said Tuesday after a Bills training camp practice in suburban Rochester. "But I just thought the timing of things, there’s too many good things going on — we just announced a new commissioner — in our sport to have these kind of blemishes."’

‘It was the second time Brown has been cut by the Bills. He also failed to make the team last summer. Coach Dick Jauron was scheduled to address reporters later in the day to discuss the moves, which leave the Bills with 83 players.’

‘Linebacker Courtney Watson is the most notable among the players let go. Watson was acquired in an offseason trade with the New Orleans Saints for Tim Euhus. Watson’s lack of conditioning and trouble with learning the Bills’ defensive system led to his release.’

‘The Buffalo Bills didn’t wait until Tuesday Aug. 29 to reduce their roster to the league required 75. The club waived four players a week prior to that cutdown date releasing defensive tackles LaWaylon Brown and Tai Tupai along with offensive tackle Matt Morgan and linebacker Courtney Watson.’

‘”Different guys look at it different ways,” explained tight end Robert Royal. “I just try to take it day by day. I try not to look all the way to Thursday because I know I still got tomorrow and Wednesday to go. Some guys approach it as they can’t wait to get back home because they got wives back home and some of them children. So it goes both ways.”‘

‘”He’s got excellent speed and excellent quickness,” Bills defensive coordinator Perry Fewell said. “If he can put together the call on our defense, we expect some good fundamental play out of him. Nothing more, nothing less.”‘

‘Price apparently wasn’t aware he was AWOL until he picked up his phone on Sunday and Bills receivers coach Tyke Tolbert was on the other end asking where he was. “I said, ‘I’ll be back in about an hour but you all will be off the field,'” Price said. “It was kind of funny afterward, but that initial call, it was like, ‘Oh no.’ But it’s all good. They’re happy I wasn’t in a car accident or missing.”‘

‘”In football I’ve always felt like I was underestimated,” said the Buffalo Bills’ fourth-round draft pick. “Ever since I’ve been playing football I’ve had to prove myself, and now I have to do it at this level.”‘

‘And as Evans prepares for his first season as the team’s No. 1 receiver, he continues to abide by the lessons of the father. “My dad is a blue-collar guy and I’m a blue-collar guy deep down,” Evans was saying after a recent training-camp practice at St. John Fisher College. “He always told me, ‘It’s all right to dream, but nothing’s for free. You’ve got to work for anything and everything you get in life.’ It’s a motto I’ve followed every step of the way.”‘

‘If Losman can continue improving, he and the 25-year-old Evans, also No. 83, could give Kelly and Reed a run for their money when it’s all said and done. That, however, is only a dream at this point for the Bills.’

‘On getting thrown into practice tonight after a good performance: They said I did a pretty good job, but you know I have real high expectations for myself so I’m going to continue to watch film, work hard and do the little things to try and make sure that I can become the best player I can be.’

‘"We probably won’t see much of Kelly this week because we need to see more of Craig," said Jauron in reference to Saturday’s preseason game with Cleveland. "Between J.P. and Craig they’ll probably take most if not all of this game."’

‘On JP still being the front runner: Same situation, JP is the front runner, he did some real good things in the game and he did some real bad things. He took some steps forward and that was good. We’ll keep it just like that, he’ll get the majority of the reps. we probably won’t see much of (Holcomb) this week, because we need to see more of (Nall). Between JP and Craig, they’ll probably take most if not all of this game.’
