‘Tasker returns to his roots to speak in the community where he lived with his parents, Kiowa Methodist Church Pastor Gordon Tasker and JoAnn. The Taskers served the church in Kiowa from 1968 to 1974. The public is invited to hear Tasker, an active inspirational and motivational speaker. He’ll be at South Barber High School in Kiowa Monday night, April 17, to speak at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but a love offering will be taken as a token of appreciation.’

Jets sign OL Trey Teague
‘”Trey is a physical, tough, smart and determined veteran who provides our offensive line with flexibility and experience,” Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum said in a release. “He is a consistent player with a physical presence and we look forward to integrating him into our program.”‘
Buffalo Bills 2006 Draft Preview
‘On offense, the team cut underachieving tackle Mike Williams on Feb. 24, their attempt to sign Cardinals guard Reggie Wells was rebuffed when Arizona matched Buffalo’s offer, and center Reggie Fowler (Vikings), brought into replace free agent Trey Teague, was the only o- line addition via free agency. On the d-line, former starters Sam Adams (Bengals) and Justin Bannan (Ravens) have both relocated, and though former Colt Larry Triplett was signed, a Buffalo team that struggled to stop the run in 2005 could use some additional depth there.’
Bills’ future here in flux
‘He deserves support and he should keep playing to the whistle, and beyond.’
Position Battle: Centers of Attention
‘The lead candidate for now is free agent signee Melvin Fowler who got virtually all of the first team reps in the team’s first minicamp. "He’s been a starting center in the National Football League," said head coach Dick Jauron of Fowler. "He’s very athletic and a smart guy. I think he’s a terrific addition for us. It looks like he fits in well with that group. They’re a pretty tight group so that was a real good signing for us."’
Senator Maziari launches on-line petition in support of Buffalo Bills
I invite my constituents to join me in sending a message to NFL Commissioner Tagliabue that we don’t want to lose the Bills, and we don’t want the NFL to set rules and regulations that are going to make it impossible for the Bills franchise to stay in business."
Tale of the tape: Wire in mix
‘”I only know what I can do and that is work as hard as I possibly can,” said Wire, who started 15 games as a rookie and appeared in 57 games during his first four years in Buffalo. “I can’t do anything more than that. If I do that, I know I’ll get what I deserve. I know I have good competition, and that will bring out the best in both of us. I’m looking forward to working harder than I’ve ever worked and playing the best football I’ve ever played.”‘
Football fiasco
‘The proposed economic agreement is unacceptable and could prevent large-market teams with higher revenues from sharing revenues with smaller-market teams like the Bills. This lack of support is the death-sentence that Bills owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr. has been dreading and has a greater potential to hurt more than the average football fan.’
Bills Host Two More Free Agents
‘Reyes was orginally drafted in the fifth-round by New Orleans in 2000. He is 6’3" and weights 310 pounds. According to an NFL source, Reyes is scheduled to visit with the Lions later this week.’
Bills Still Free Agent Shopping
‘The NFL Draft might be just 18 days away, but the Bills haven’t shifted much focus away from the free agent market. A day after signing wide receiver Peerless Price, the Bills hosted Carolina free agent guard Tutan Reyes and Houston free agent running back Jonathan Wells.’

‘2005 Team: Houston Texans.’

Anderson Takes on Nose Job
‘"He’s a big guy that’s strong than can sit in there and take those double teams on," said Bills defensive line coach Bill Kollar. "The nose tackle is going to get doubled teamed a lot more than the three-technique does. You want a little bit quicker guy at the three, so we definitely see him more suited at the nose than the three."’
Bills bring back a familiar friend
‘At this point, one of the biggest mysteries on the Buffalo Bills’ roster centers around who will start at receiver opposite Evans. By signing Price, the Bills have perhaps answered that question.’
