QBs can use sessions as springboard
‘"The one that confronts us right away and almost on a daily basis is the quarterback issue," Jauron said Tuesday during a coaches breakfast at the NFL owners meetings. "To be successful, we’ve got to solve that. We’ve got to find a quarterback who will perform at a high level, make plays and lead the team. I’m pretty certain that without that guy, you don’t win a lot of games in our league. That’s the No. 1 challenge for us. With the three guys we have, we’re hoping that competition elevates all their play and somebody takes off, somebody in those three."’
Eagles unlikely to make a big catch at receiver
‘A league source said yesterday that the Eagles have some level of interest in Moulds, but that the wide receiver’s representatives initiated the conversations with the team, rather than the other way around. The opinion of that source was that Moulds, who will be 33 in July, is a good receiver who isn’t coming off a great year.’
Bills re-sign WR Aiken to two-year deal
‘Aiken was a restricted free agent after the Bills secured his rights by tendering him a one-year contract earlier this month. Buffalo selected the North Carolina product with the second of two fourth-round picks in the 2003 draft.’
Aiken Signs
‘Aiken has played in 37 games, starting two, over the past three seasons. He has been a big part of the Bills special teams units – finishing second on the team with 24 special teams tackles last year.’
Bills Sign WR Sam Aiken
‘The Bills today announced that the team has signed restricted free agent WR Sam Aiken. In accordance with club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Originally a fourth-round draft pick by the Bills in 2003, Aiken has played in 37 games, starting two, over the past three seasons.’
