The first assumes an extension will be reached and it will be business as usual. The other takes into account all of the quirky transition year rules and the daunting prospect of no salary cap at all next season. “You’re ready to go either way,” said Overdorf, a 1986 Drake University Law School graduate. “You have to realize that under transition rules, it’s going to be a lot tighter (with money). If not and there’s an extension, we’re going to have more flexibility. Push comes to shove, we still have to make the right decisions.”‘
