‘No, Losman didn’t play great in his first start since a concussion sidelined Kelly Holcomb, but arguing that Holcomb or any other quarterback would have produced a different result is beyond asinine. If anything, Losman’s performance was the closest thing to a bright spot the Bills can take from the slaughter. Even with the offensive line, another living testament to the Donahoe Way, serving as a turnstile for the San Diego rush and Josh Reed dropping everything thrown near him, the quarterback kept trying to make something, anything happen. By simply trying, Losman elevated himself above many of his self-aggrandizing teammates who fooled themselves and a hefty portion of the paying public into believing that they constituted a "championship team," or even a "decent team."’

‘The Bills a playoff contender? Are you serious?’
Too hot to handle
‘Coaching: F – Can’t blame game plan as much as execution. Team shouldn’t make these simple mistakes. Talent gap looked large.’
So much for Bills’ talk of the playoffs
‘Speaking of enhancing resumes, how did you enjoy the performance of the self-proclaimed “Playmaker”? All Nate Clements did was get beaten on touchdown passes by Eric Parker and Keenan McCardell, draw an offside by lining up in the neutral zone and have Chargers’ running back LaDanian Tomlinson and Michael Turner run through several of his arm tackles. Clements, entering free agency in the off-season, considers himself one of the league’s elite cornerbacks … but there’s a legitimate question whether he’s even the best on his own team. Color him gone next season.’
Bills hit rock-bottom in 48-10 loss
‘This team continues to head backwards as they seemed destined to become the new version of the Cincinnati Bengals. Well, since Cincy is now an elite football team, somebody has to take their place. With the current regime in Buffalo at the helm, it looks like the Bills are leading that charge.’
Electric slide
‘It was a blowout from the start.’
Clements is on the wrong end of ‘Playmaker’ label
‘Clements wasn’t alone. The Bills’ entire defense was bombarded by the Chargers’ passing attack.’
Bills are humiliated in latest road loss
‘So this is how far we’ve come. Five years into the Donahoe regime, after five years of scheming and scouting, five years of shuffling players and coaches and blame, the Bills are still capable of going on the road and utterly embarrassing themselves.’
Losman comes home to horror
‘”If they want me to play, I’m going to play,” Losman said. “No matter what, I am going to scratch and fight to get in there. But whatever he feels is best for the team, he’s going to do.”‘
The Massacre At Qualcomm
‘I don’t want to say I don’t like Mike Mularkey’s coaching and some of the decisions that GM Tom Donahoe has made, but let’s just say that these Bills could have either John Fox or Marvin Lewis on the sidelines now. But, noooooo, Gregg Williams was great in the interview process! Eek.’
Buffalo scorched in San Diego sun
‘The facts are right there to see for anyone who is paying attention. The Bills are 0-5 on the road, and if you’re trying to figure out when was the last time a team made the playoffs having not won a road game, don’t bother. It has never happened.’
Embarrassing Bills might as well stay at home
‘The Bills flew an awfully long way to play that awful.’
Butler/Smith did it their way
‘Not only did the Chargers, who went 14-2 last season, beat Buffalo to the playoffs, on Sunday they showed just how much farther ahead their program has surged under the Bills’ previous brain trust, drubbing Buffalo 48-10 at Qualcomm Stadium. Somewhere, Butler was smiling.’
The two-minute read
‘The Bills, who had allowed a league-low 10 points in the first quarter all season, gave up 14 in the first quarter to the NFL’s No. 3-scoring team.’
Buffalo Bills report card
‘Mike Mularkey and his staff were taken to school by Marty Schottenheimer, Wade Phillips and friends.’
