Bills must regroup on offense during the bye week
‘Will Buffalo commit to utilizing Willis McGahee? The former UM star is proving to be a true workhorse and has emerged as one of the top running backs in the NFL. This guy needs to tote the rock at least 20-25 times a game in order to take pressure off the quarterback (whoever that might be) and control the tempo of the game. If the Bills want to win more football games this year they need to give the ball to McGahee early and often.’
Donahoe: Don’t count Bills out
‘"We certainly proved last year we can come back," he said. "We think we can do the same thing this year. Nobody liked losing the other night (in New England), but we felt the performance is possibly something you can use as a springboard the second half of the year."’
Assignment mistakes plaguing Bills in the red zone
‘Adams is a one-gap, penetrating defensive tackle. He never has been a two-gap, pure space clogger. He’s better at penetrating than Anderson. They need to get him doing what he does best and hope Anderson plays better the second half.’
Donahoe befuddled by failure to close games
‘”It’s pretty obvious the defense hasn’t played up to the standard they’ve established here the last couple of years, and that’s disappointing,” Donahoe said when asked to assess the team’s overall play. “We think some of it is correctable, and that’s what we’re working hard to do during the bye week. The other thing, just generally with regard to the team, is that we have to be more consistent. We’ve seen examples and flashes of pretty good play in all areas, but we haven’t seen it yet over a consistent basis for 60 minutes.”‘
