‘The Saints caught fire after a Losman interception in the second quarter. Losman was looking for Eric Moulds on a deep post, but the ball sailed high over Moulds’ head by 12 yards and CB Jason Craft made a nice center field catch. He then returned the ball 39 yards to the Bills’ 23-yard line, setting up an Aaron Brooks four-yard TD run. The interception was the result of Losman and Moulds getting their signals crossed. Moulds indicated it was Losman’s error. “During the week, the coaches said to cut it (the route) because the guy would be on the backside of me,” Moulds said. “Instead of throwing it up, I cut it off so he could have all of that field to throw it to me. But as soon as he threw it, I cut it off. It’s something we’ve got to keep working on to be on the same page.”‘

‘The division is literally just sitting there, waiting to be taken, and the Bills would seem powerless to do anything about it.’

‘Fire Donahoe and bring in someone who has proven that they can build a winning NFL team. It’s time to give the Bills’ fans a team that they can be proud of.’

‘Who would have thought when the season started, that the Bills would be facing the first place Miami Dolphins this week? The Bills limp back home after losing their third straight game in San Antonio against the Saints.’

‘But there is a big difference between a Bills game and a rerun of Gilligan’s Island. Gilligan’s Island tried to be funny, and more often than not, succeeded. You can’t say that about the Bills right now.’

‘There was one series in the 3rd quarter that demonstrates the surprising play-calling. McGahee cranks off a 14 yard run, the next plays were: pass which led to a sack, quarterback draw for 7 yards, and another sack, and it was time to PUNT. No more McGahee. Willis should get 30 carries a game, including several in a row. They have to take the pressure off of Losman, and the only way to do that is to give McGahee more carries. Make no mistake about it Losman is not getting the job done. McGahee would get more carries if Losman and the offense could convert more third downs.’

‘"When I say that everyone’s job is on thin ice, I put myself at the top of the list and have always done that," Donahoe said. "Four games into the season, I do not see any quitters on our team or on our coaching staff, but we must play better."’

‘You refused to throw against a banged up Falcons secondary and abandoned the run against a Saints defense that couldn’t stop it. What is the logic behind the offensive play calling right now?’

‘Mr. Donahoe, when your team’s starting running back rushes for 5.25 yards per carry, how is it possible to not give him more than 16 carries?’

‘Can you really have a quarterback controversy if both guys stink?’

‘Defensive tackle Ron Edwards had tests Monday to determine the severity of a right shoulder injury, leaving his status uncertain for Buffalo’s game against Miami this weekend.’

‘So, let Losman play, and just see what happens, no matter how horrible the results. It can only help. If the kid shows promise-any promise-for optimism in 2006, the season will be a success even if they end up 5-11. If he still looks like a guy that couldn’t cut it in the XFL in week 17, well then hey, our bad, let’s make some offseason moves in the summer and prepare for 2006. But, if you want to use a stopgap in Holcomb, go for it. However, I can guarantee you that the Bills will go nowhere for another five years if that decision is made. Kelly Holcomb is Kelly Holcomb. There is a reason why the Browns of all teams do not have him any more. Let’s not get nutty here.’

‘What’s certain is this, the learning curve for Losman is considerably wider than anticipated. And, given Buffalo’s continued defensive indifference (more on that in a moment), it’s looking more and more as if this will be a painful, learning season for Losman with way too few wins for Bills’ fans.’

‘The hotel was decorated with Buffalo Bills banners at every turn and the bar was packed as early as 4 p.m. with fans dressed in Bills gear from head-to-toe. The highlight of the evening however, was an exclusive question and answer session with Tom, in which the team’s President spent over 30 minutes discussing the direction of the team and the progress of some of the younger players.’
