‘”I’ve talked to a lot of the veteran players and we want to win now,” said wide receiver Eric Moulds, a 10-year veteran and the longest-tenured Bills player. “When you’re a young player, you understand that you want to win, but at the same time, you’ve got a long time to try to win in this league. But for a veteran player, the window is closing for us and we’re trying to win now.”‘

Dolphins eyed Holcomb but picked Frerotte
‘”I think Losman gives them something a lot of quarterbacks in this league don’t, because he’s such a good athlete and can make plays with his feet and his legs. That’s always a problem for you on defense. But they know their team better than anybody else and they’ll certainly make the decisions on who plays relative to what they feel gives them best chance to be successful,” Saban said.’
Going for two too early can haunt a team late
‘Generally, it’s not time to start going for two until the fourth quarter, or maybe later in the third of a defensive struggle. Carolina coach John Fox fouled this up in the Super Bowl two years ago.’
Bills take our hearts – wallets, too
‘So he, his wife and their kids drove to the big-box store and bought a 32-inch, flat-screen, stereo-speaker TV. It was up and running five minutes before kickoff. It stands to reason: If you have a premium football team, you need a premium screen to fully savor the glory. “We could watch the games,” figured Jim, “in the style that the team merited.”‘
Saban runs a tight ship and it has Dolphins turned around
‘A driven taskmaster (who, by the way, cares deeply about his players and actually likes to laugh), the 53-year-old Saban never had a losing record in college and won a piece of the national championship in 2003 with a 13-1 record with the Tigers.’

Let Losman Show Us If He’s The Man
‘I just feel there is no chance what so ever that this is a playoff team. Both their offensive and defensive lines are worse than last year when the Bills turned a 0-4 record into 9-7. With that in mind, the Bills are missing an opportunity to get Losman 16 games under his belt.’
Bills hope QB change will lead to a win over Miami
‘If Buffalo establishes the run early, it should open up the pass for Kelly Holcomb and the rest of the Bills’ offense. It is imperative that Holcomb utilizes Buffalo’s two best receivers, Eric Moulds and Lee Evans. Both are big-time playmakers but have not gotten the ball enough this season. They have combined for just 18 catches, 194 yards, and no touchdowns in the team’s first four games. Much of that can be attributed to a bad game plan by the Bills’ offensive coaching staff, as well as the struggles of J.P. Losman. However, it’s hard for me to believe that Holcomb will fare too much better than Losman if the line doesn’t step up. Holcomb could be in trouble since he doesn’t possess the same mobility as Losman. However, if the Bills’ line gives Holcomb sufficient time, expect him to pick apart Miami’s 19th ranked pass defense. Their top two defensive backs, Sam Madison and Lance Schulters, need to step up this week.’
The future is now
‘The Buffalo Bills won’t really know for a while yet whether or not they were wrong to tie their future to J.P. Losman. But for now, they were absolutely right to make the present all about Kelly Holcomb at quarterback.’

Tight Ends Missing in Action
‘”It’s hard to see your team struggling, especially offensively we’ve been struggling, and not be able to help when you know you can help,” Campbell explained. “It’s kind of what I have to deal with as a professional and go out and keep working hard and be there for when my number is called.”
