‘Mularkey has played coy with the media again this week, not naming a starter for Sunday’s contest with the Jets (“I’ll probably wait until the end of the week. No time frame has been set,” he said on Wednesday.). Nonetheless, Edwards doesn’t think the guessing-game will pose much of a problem for his defense’s preparations this week. "We’ve seen tape on both guys, if they should change,” Edwards said. “Losman can make plays with his feet, so that’s always a concern. Holcomb isn’t going to run as much, but he’s a veteran guy that reads coverages well. But their offense isn’t going to change that much.”‘

No Word On Starting QB; Bills Add Edwards To IR
‘Rookie wideout Roscoe Parrish participated in a full workout this afternoon. Parrish catching passes with a soft cast on his wrist. He’s listed as questionable for this Sunday.’
Bills DT Edwards on injured reserve
‘The Bills filled Edwards’ roster spot Wednesday by signing defensive tackle Jason Jefferson off Philadelphia’s practice squad. A rookie out of Wisconsin, Jefferson was drafted by New Orleans in the sixth round of the draft in April. The Bills also signed offensive lineman Marques Ogden to their practice squad Wednesday, replacing cornerback Evan Oglesby, who was released.’
Bills Sign DT Jason Jefferson
‘The Bills announced today that the team has signed DT Jason Jefferson from the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad to the 53-man roster and has placed DT Ron Edwards on Reserve/Injured.’
Closing In on the Pack
‘With that in mind, newyorkjets.com spoke with Mark Gaughan, the Bills’ beat reporter for the Buffalo News to bring you The Other Side.’
Bills’ secret weapon may be unleashed this week
‘After missing the team’s first five games, it appears that Parrish may finally be ready to make his NFL debut. His cast has been removed and he is back to practicing with the team at full speed. Before his injury, Parrish looked to be transitioning smoothly into the Bills’ offense and it looked like he would unseat incumbent slot receiver Josh Reed. Buffalo’s offense could certainly use him as Reed continues to be unspectacular.’
Weekend could produce AFC East logjam
‘"Football is a funny game because you can be down one week and up the next," Bills linebacker Jeff Posey said. "It’s still very early in the season and no one in our division has separated from the pack, so we like our chances."’
Win recalls sublime losses of Buffalo’s past
‘Before he was the parent of teenaged children, Thomas was a standout running back with the Buffalo Bills. He was the bald-headed double threat out of the backfield who helped quarterback Jim Kelly and other star teammates reach — and lose — the National Football League title game four years in a row. Those teams teased and tormented its fans like none before or since, and their legacy is visited every time wild optimism meets crushing pessimism on local talk radio. Buffalo has a championship-calibre defence, someone was saying on Sunday morning, but it can’t stop the run and, really, it’s full of players who could be excised in the name of rebuilding.’
Mularkey keeps ’em guessing
‘Mularkey said Wednesday is a big planning day for NFL teams. By keeping the Dolphins guessing until Thursday, he reasoned that Nick Saban’s team was unable to fully prepare for Holcomb. Therefore, we shouldn’t be surprised to hear another announcement from Moulds on Thursday. This will cripple the Jets’ defensive game plan, since they probably assumed the Bills would have signed a real quarterback by now.’
Jets Confidential
‘Buffalo hasn’t scored a second-half touchdown this season.’
Looking ahead: Jets vs. Bills
‘It’s about time for the Jets to run the ball, and that’s not coach-speak. The Bills, still suffering from the loss of Takeo Spikes, are 31st against the run. If there is a time for Curtis Martin and the Jets’ 31st-ranked rushing offense to show they’re not on their last legs, this is it. Also, a decent run threat will help Vinny Testaverde by taking the edge off the pass rush of ends Chris Kelsay and Aaron Schobel, who pressured Chad Pennington well in last year’s two games.’

Holcomb secures starting spot in win over Dolphins
‘Buffalo, picked by many to reach the postseason this season, now sits at 2-3. In case you were wondering, since the current playoff system was put in place in 1990, 19 teams have come back from a losing record after the first four games of the season to make the playoffs. Also, the 2001 Super Bowl champion New England Patriots began the year 1-3.’
