Milloy Has Good Day, Likely To Play

‘Mularkey says he gave Takeo Spikes the day off. He did have his lower leg in a wrap, but Mularkey says it’s just a day off and he won’t be added to the injury report.’

Bills-Falcons Statistical Matchup

‘Vick is 23-for-42 for 279 yards, one touchdown and an interception this season. Bills first-year starter J.P. Losman is 29-for-56 for 283 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. After a disappointing game last week in Tampa, Losman looks to regroup against the league’s 31st ranked pass defense.’

Trio of Bills Starters Still in Question

‘Three Buffalo starters remain questionable for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Linebacker London Fletcher, safety Lawyer Milloy and offensive tackle Mike Williams will each be game-time decisions, after suffering injuries last weekend in Tampa.’

Milloy status still uncertain for Sunday

‘Fletcher practiced for the second straight day Friday, while Williams was still hobbling due to an ankle injury that has forced him to miss practice all week. The two also will be game-time decisions.’

‘"Some weeks, he’s gonna look unbelievable and then some weeks, against some teams we’re gonna play, he’s gonna make some mistakes," Buffalo receiver Eric Moulds said. "But, like I told J.P., ‘Just keep pluggin’ away and keep learning, and learn from your mistakes.’ And I think he’s gonna do that and I think, hopefully, he’s gonna bounce back this week."’

Moulds’ patience is tested

‘”I wouldn’t change anything as far as getting drafted here, but it would be better, like Andre (Reed) had Jim Kelly for most of his career,” he said. “I had the controversy with Doug and Rob. I had Billy Joe Hobert. It was tough because the guys I had – Todd Collins and those guys – were young. I’ve never really had a guy who, every week, I knew he was going to look for me.”‘

Milloy has thumb surgery; Losman doesn’t flinch

‘”Whenever you have something taken away from you that you value so much, it hurts,” Milloy said Thursday. “When I found out it was broken and the doctors said surgery, I broke down because of how hard I worked to get ready for this season. I was having a pretty good start. It was like, “Why me?’ That’s when I decided to just play ball the rest of that game and worry about the consequences later.”‘

Moulds says he needs to do more

‘”He’s seeing a lot of different things right now, and it’s understandable for a young quarterback (to struggle), but we have to be able to make plays, whether we take shots up the field or do something different to get him in a rhythm,” Moulds said.’

Bills need Losman to rev up passing attack

‘Houston and Tampa Bay stacked their defenses to stop McGahee, and every other team on Buffalo’s schedule is going to do the same thing. The only way to loosen the defense is for Losman to have success through the air.’

Going Gray

‘No, we’re talking about the exit of Houston Texans personnel, now that offensive coordinator Chris Palmer was shown the door after the pathetic display in the first two games of the season. I expect Dom Capers to follow at the end of the year. Here’s some unsolicited advice for Texans owner Bob McNair, who might as well get the jump on the Vikings when they fire Mike Tice. Hire Jerry Gray as his next head coach.’

Get Moulds Involved

‘”I don’t want to get frustrated and I don’t want to get the other guys frustrated and get mad at J.P. because I’m not getting the ball,” explained Moulds. “But at the same time I knew it was going to be a process this year. I wouldn’t have come back and re-signed with the team if I thought he couldn’t get it done.”‘

Vick practices, now probable vs. Bills

‘“I learned how to take care of it,” Vick said when asked to compare the aftermath of each injury. “I learned how to rehab it and what to do and what not to do. I’m taking precautions, but at the same time I’m doing what I can to try to strengthen it up.”’

Falcons Provide Measuring Stick
