‘”Yeah, I was surprised,” he said. “But hey, we needed the work. We weren’t doing too good, so I don’t blame the coaches for keeping us out there.”‘

Moulds worried for friends living in hurricane’s path
‘Moulds’ mother lives near Gulfport, Miss., but she evacuated before Katrina reached land. Still, Moulds fears a number of people will lose their property. “It’s a tough situation because you never know what’s going to happen,” Moulds said. “So many things happen with roofs and things like that, and so much rain and so much wind, it tears up your city. So it’s hard to rebuild. My prayers go out to the people down there because I know how tough it is to get through a hurricane.”‘
Carrying on
‘Willis McGahee’s preseason workload…’.
Bills stick with the run despite tough going
‘”There’s going to be games like that,” said McGahee on Monday after practice at Ralph Wilson Stadium. “You’re not going to come out and break off a lot of good runs. But it’s not how you start, it’s how you end, that’s how I look at it.”‘
Bills keep an eye on hurricane as families deal with devastation
‘The Bills have given center Duke Preston a long look as a long snapper, but it appears he won’t replace specialist Jon Dorenbos.’
Losman or Holcomb a Question Worth Asking
‘He’s smart and athletic and has the “want”, which isn’t always enough, but in this case I suspect will be. But it won’t happen overnight. Maybe not even this season.’
Hurricane Katrina hits home for Moulds
‘“When they tell you not to go outside and to evacuate, people don’t realize that your life is in your hands,” Moulds said. “When you can see the winds actually pick up a car, you can understand how strong those 145 mph winds are.”’
Bills Monitor Hurricane with Close Eye
‘"I have a lot of friends and family members, not blood, but people I spent four and a half years with [in New Orleans]," said Losman. "I’ve got a lot of love and a lot of care for them. They are all out of town. They all evacuated and hopefully their houses and their cars aren’t in trouble."’
Bills’ offensive sputters raise concerns
‘"It’s not where we want to be yet. But we’re getting there," McGahee said. "We’ve got one more preseason game left to get it together."’
Patriots the class of division once again
‘Predictions: New England (12-4); New York (10-6); Buffalo (8-8); Miami (4-12).’
Bills owner’s wife wins two national tennis titles
‘Mary Wilson, wife of Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson, won the U.S. Tennis Association’s 60-and-older singles and doubles national indoor titles last weekend.’
It’s a grand time when Shelton leads
‘”Watching Daimon do his thing is an awesome sight,” Bills running backs coach Eric Studesville said. “His strength is he uses his leverage so well. He’s a big man who is powerful and strong. Then you see him make contact. When his pad level is low and he’s running full speed, it’s hard for guys to physically compete with him. He accelerates so well on contact. When he sees a target he attacks it. It’s a unique talent and not everybody has it. He has it and he does it well.”‘
Watching J.P. will have its ups, downs
‘No matter how much time Losman spends breaking down film with quarterbacks coach Sam Wyche, the preseason has proved that there’s no experience like game experience. Losman will make some incredible plays this year, but he’s destined to make some incredibly poor decisions, too.’
RB Lee among seven players cut by Bills
‘The cuts leave Buffalo with a 70-player roster, including rookie tight end Kevin Everett and cornerback Kevin Thomas, who are on the physically unable-to-perform list. NFL teams must pare their rosters to 65 by Tuesday and get down to the regular-season maximum of 53 by Saturday, a day after the Bills close their preseason hosting Detroit.’
Bills waive seven players
‘The Bills today announced that the team has waived P Steve Baker, WR Tony Brown, RB ReShard Lee, DB Rob Lee, DE Uyi Osunde, LB Daryl Towns, and QB Tory Woodbury.’
