2005 Training Camp Schedule Announced
‘In addition to the opening night practice, the Bills will practice at night three other times during training camp with two being open to the public.’
NFL Hopefuls Following Moorman’s Footsteps
‘Here’s a quick look at some of the players who are hoping to make an impact with the Bills from ‘across the pond’…’.
Former Centerville star taking his shot with the Buffalo Bills
‘Centerville’s Ryan Hawk received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Ohio University on Saturday and is scheduled to work out for the Buffalo Bills today in Orchard Park, N.Y.’
Bills Team Report
‘Although most observers believe DT Tim Anderson will succeed free-agent defector Pat Williams and start alongside Pro Bowl lineman Sam Adams, Ron Edwards has a great shot to replace Williams. Edwards has gotten most of the snaps with the starting defense during the organized team activities. A full-time starter in 2002, Edwards has been an effective pass rusher the past two seasons, displaying the quickness to shoot through gaps and beat blocks. He’s got the size (6-3, 320) and strength to be a good run stopper if he plays hard on every snap.’
Bills shouldn’t let Clements play the market
‘When it comes to cornerback Nate Clements, the Buffalo Bills should follow the market and offer top dollar. The sooner they do it, the better.’
Inside slant
‘A 2,000-yard season for Willis McGahee?’
Notes, quotes
‘”I think it’s evident the way that they have prepared mentally and practiced physically and from everything they are doing in these meetings, that they’re on a mission. Whether it’s a result from the loss to Pittsburgh that kept us out of the playoffs, or what, but there is something about them.” – Coach Mike Mularkey, talking about his team’s all-business attitude during recent team organized activities.’
Milloy figuring it all out
‘”After the season, I always go through the season and think about the things that happened during the year,” Milloy said, “things I did good and things I can get better at. The thing that kept sticking out in a positive way was the way she was there for me when I got hurt for the first time. I think that was more of a devastating blow to me than having to leave New England in the fashion I had to leave.”
McGahee in shape but not at practice
‘Seventy-six out of 85 players were present Friday.’
Hall of Famer racing to find a cure
‘That Hunter has lived this long is somewhat miraculous, but he remains on a respirator 24 hours a day, eats through a machine and is suctioned 100 to 150 times per day because he can’t swallow on his own. “He’s on all kinds of medication, too, but he’s the toughest little boy I’ve ever met in my life,” Kelly said. “He is without a doubt my hero. I don’t know how he does it.”’
Organized Team Activities Near End
‘Despite the workouts being voluntary, every available Bills player, aside from running back Travis Henry, has participated at one point during the three weeks. "It’s a compliment to them to have the numbers that we’ve had and get done what we’ve gotten done," said Mularkey. "I think they recognize that I’ve really tried to honor their requests as far as time. We don’t put a big demand on them. They are not here all day… they’re in and out. We get a lot done in a short amount of time."’
Verba Has Not Been Contacted. McGahee Out Of OTA’s Again
‘In addition to McGahee also missing today were Sam Adams, Chris Villarrial, Jason Esposito, Kahlil Hill, Uyi Osunde, Aaron Schobel, Nate Clements, Ben Sobieski and Travis Henry. Working on their own were Mark Campbell and Tim Euhus. Watching were Ross Tucker, Troy Vincent, Jon Dorenbos, Kevin Thomas and Marvin Ward.’
Mularkey OK with McGahee’s sporadic minicamp attendance
‘As for whether he’s bothered by McGahee’s absences, Mularkey shrugged. ”They know the commitment. They know the number of guys that are here … and I’m not going to harp on it,” Mularkey said. ”I’m pleased with all the guys that are here because if you start worrying about the guys that aren’t, it takes away from all the positives that are going on right now. And there are a lot of positives.”’
