‘I certainly don’t want to rain on anybody’s parade. Nearly a dozen new stadiums have been built in the last half-dozen years, with more coming, and Buffalo simply can’t afford one. Still, you have to give Councilman Thompson credit. There’s nothing wrong with thinking big.’

‘”We feel we do have a first round pick, and our first round pick is on our team and we feel good about that,” Donahoe said Monday. “Now, if the situation presents itself and it’s the right player and we can make the move to get back in there, that would be great. But if it doesn’t, then we’ll all develop a little patience this year.”‘

‘Donahoe says that there have been offers to move back into the first round from other teams, but none of those offers were substantial.’

Kevin scored two rushing touchdowns, had three scrambles for first downs, and was not picked off in a 23-10 victory over the Rhein Fire. Here’s what Kevin said after the game.’

"We can’t afford $150,00 suites; they would all be empty. We can’t afford to charge $60 for a ticket; we wouldn’t have 25,000 people in the stands. We have to tailor our prices to what the market can afford. So far, we’ve been able to do that (and remain competitive)."’

‘Following the departure of Jonas Jennings, Mike Williams might switch to the left side. Either way, Mike Gandy isn’t the answer as a starter. The Bills need someone who can step in and play on the left or right side.’

The encouraging thing with Willis is that each time he went on the field, he got better. I think next year we’ll see the real Willis McGahee. ‘Donahoe hasn’t closed the door on pulling off a deal in order to get back into the first round. But while the urge to resist such a move will be like a ball bearing running from a magnet, it’s very likely the Bills will stand pat, content to sip coffee and plot second-round strategy for most of the day. One big reason is the overall talent pool.’

‘With coach Bobby April we can come to the sideline and tell him what we are seeing and he’ll make adjustments quickly. He’ll take your opinion into account. He’ll let us change things on the field. There were a couple of times in games where Crowell and I just started crossing on kickoffs just to mess up the double teams. He doesn’t mind you adlibbing a bit but don’t mess up. He’s awesome at putting you on the right match up with a guy that is similar in height, weight, strength, and speed.’

‘There is talk of moving C Trey Teague to left tackle. Regardless, the Bills have to start thinking about a successor at center. The Bills love versatile linemen, so Michigan’s David Baas would be a great pick in the second round. Baas is a tough and technically sound player with experience at center and guard.’

‘”I don’t understand why the deal hasn’t been made,” Henry said. “My understanding is Arizona wants to do it player for player. There’s no other holdup on their end. They don’t want anything else.”‘

‘Will it be the No. 1 option on the current roster, center Trey Teague? Will it be veteran L.J. Shelton, if the Bills and Arizona Cardinals pull the trigger on a trade for running back Travis Henry? Will a rookie drafted in the second or third round vie for the job? And with Teague entering the last year of his contract, will the Bills take one of the promising centers in the draft. The possibilities are numerous.’
