Bills dominate listless Seahawks
‘Instead, Bledsoe faked a sneak and lateraled to his left to Willis McGahee, who rambled almost untouched for a 30-yard touchdown. For the Seahawks defense, they turned Qwest Field into Rest Field. They were asleep. “I had never seen a play like that before,” Seahawks defensive tackle Cedric Woodard said. “It was a good play. They had a fourth down and only this much (holding his fingers closely together to indicate inches). Everybody was thinking sneak. I give them credit. They kept us off balance all day.”‘
Buffalo 38, Seattle 9
‘Buffalo didn’t punt until less than a minute remained in the third period.’
Buffalo 38, Seattle 9
‘”We threw a little more today and our no-huddle offense worked well,” Bledsoe said. “We converted third down and enjoyed success in the passing despite three turnovers.”‘
Bills RB Travis Henry suffers broken leg
‘It would be a disappointing end to the year for Henry, who lost his starting job to Willis McGahee. Henry has rushed for 326 yards in 10 games this season.’
Buffalo 38, Seattle 9
‘”We were able to sustain drives and keep our offense on the field,” said Bledsoe, who was a standout at Washington State University and is a native of Ellensburg, Washington.’
Bills’ Henry breaks leg
‘Henry, whose season is likely over, suffered the injury on the fourth play of the game. On a third-and-three, Henry caught a five-yard pass from Drew Bledsoe, was tackled by Seattle linebacker Isaiah Kacyvenski and had to be helped from the field.’
McGahee Paves Road Win
‘The 38-9 margin was Buffalo’s most lopsided road win in 14 years.’
Bills Break Loose On The Road
‘To me this game was won by good defense and Drew Bledsoe.’
Cheeseburgers Bring Paradise
‘”It’s been a long time since we’ve had the feeling of going on the road and beating somebody,” Bledsoe said. “We finished the game. That’s the big thing you can take out of this one. We didn’t allow them to climb back in it.”‘
Bills Shut Down Seahawks Run Game
‘”That was a big key,” Mularkey said referring to the fact that the Bills were able shut down Alexander and in the process hold the Seahawks to a season-low nine points. “He’s a dangerous back and I felt like that was the No. 1 priority to shut him down.”‘
Henry Suffers Broken Leg
‘Bills running back Travis Henry suffered a broken right leg on Buffalo’s first possession and will likely miss the remainder of the season.’
Impressive Play Needs to Transfer to Road
‘Seattle struggled against Miami last week and the Bills are a much better team. The Seahawks have been inconsistent this season and it will be interesting to see which team shows up against Buffalo. These teams are very evenly matched, both with strong running backs and defenses that can make big plays. It should be a good game.’
Running Game is Important
‘For whatever reason, the Seahawks blitzed Miami more than they blitzed other teams but we are prepared for it. We’ve seen their blitzing on film and we’ve worked on reacting to them. We’ll just have to see what their plan is for us.’
