‘It’s amazing how different a win feels. Mondays have been brutal for a long time. I go to the gym or the grocery store and people want me to give them answers. But, the questions change. People start to get that crazy feeling. They look at the schedule and ask. Do you think they could roll off a few wins in a row, and get back in the playoff picture?’

Henry Remains The Bills Starter Over McGahee
‘Mularkey feels Sam Adams on the field tantrum with the coaches that cost him a benching for the second half was just a heat of the moment thing.’
Henry to retain Bills starting role when healthy
”’Travis will be the starter and Willis will get more playing time as we go,” coach Mike Mularkey said on Monday. ”I think due to injury, I don’t think that’s any case to make a change right now. (Henry) has been productive.”’
Bills sign WR Wilson to practice squad
‘Wilson is an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas who signed with Detroit last April. The Lions released Wilson after he spent the first five weeks of the season on their practice squad.’
McGahee makes the most of his first start
‘It will be up to the coaching staff to keep them both happy. If not, healthy competition could turn into an unhealthy feud. The last things the Bills need right now is a divisive rift worthy of the Flutie-Johnson debacle of a few years ago. If that happens, one of them would have to go. The Bills could be sitting on running back situation that’s either dynamite or a powder keg. It’s up to them to light the right fuse.’
Ask Him Yourself: Mike Mularkey
‘We’ll see how Travis is injury wise but if he is at full strength, 100 percent, then he’ll start. They will both get reps, but as far as starting the game Travis will be the guy. He’s been productive and missed last week due more so to the injury. We are fortunate to have two effective running backs.’
Ask Him Yourself: Tom Donahoe
‘Coach Mularkey was hired because we felt he was the best man for the job. His offensive background and his ability to communicate in get along with players was also a part of the reasons why we selected him. He has a very definite idea of how he wants to play offensive football. Some media members have inaccurately labeled it as smash-mouth football, which it really isn’t. It is a brand of football where he wants to be physical and have players who are smart and to execute the talents of his players. Even though we have struggled in some of the earlier games you can see elements of Mike’s offense and the Bills offense and what we want to do. In the second half of the game against Miami you saw the offense perform at a very efficient level and that’s what we expect to continue to develop and to get some consistency with that.’
Bills Sign WR to Practice Squad
‘The Bills announced today that the team has signed wide receiver George Wilson to its practice squad.’
Adams frustrated by role in Bills defense
”’He’s just frustrated,” Adams’ agent, Angelo Wright, told The Associated Press on Monday. The 11-year veteran and two-time Pro Bowl selection believes that he is not being properly utilized, Wright said. Rather than pressuring the pocket, Adams is mostly asked to simply contain the middle and sometimes even drop back in coverage, not easy for a player who’s listed at 335 pounds. ”It’s often difficult when a defense doesn’t let you exploit your talent,” Wright said. ”Those guys want to attack. This guy’s been winning games for a long time. And he just wants to win.”’
Bills grind out an old-fashioned victory
‘McGahee’s afternoon not only led the Bills to their first win of 2004, it provided some reason to hope for the rest of the season. Thinking about getting anywhere near contention remains several consecutive wins away, but such a possibility is no longer pure fantasy. At least until next week.’
Bills Team Report
‘McGahee was impressive in his first start, running 26 times for 111 yards. He hasn’t fully regained the explosive burst he had before a major knee injury nearly two years ago, but he is effective because of his physical style. He gains a lot of yards after contact and works hard to finish runs.’
They Finally Get A Win
‘HALFTIME: Bills losing. Me drinking.’
Wire aims Most High
‘The main symbol for Wire’s line represents progress, which he says means the desire of a person to be better today than he or she was yesterday. Wire includes a personal written explanation of what each symbol means on the hang tag. That way, he says, each garment comes with a little bit of his train of thought.’
Bills, Mularkey get win No. 1
‘”We had some problems in the first half,” admitted middle linebacker London Fletcher. “But we regrouped at halftime, stepped up, got four sacks and really shut them down.”‘
Dolphins find RB in Morris, but not a win
‘The Dolphins were always seen as a title contender with their premiere back, because they could control the clock and rest their powerful defense. Morris showed glimpses that he can help Miami back to its winning ingredient.’
