‘The Bills announced today that the team has released CB Kahlil Carter.’

‘The August 11th night practice will run from 6:45 – 8:45 PM and will once again feature an autograph session involving the entire team following practice. Tickets for the night practice are free and are limited to six per person.’

‘”Tom was a lawyer and he wanted to get into coaching,” says former Notre Dame and current South Carolina head coach Lou Holtz. “I’ll tell you this, he’s very intelligent and has the ideal temperament to be a coordinator on the professional level. He’s very patient and very aware. I think he’ll do a wonderful job and I’m very happy he’s gotten this opportunity.”‘

‘”I can’t even describe it,” Losman said. “I’m really happy to be here on time. I didn’t really like the idea of holding out or anything like that. Everything went real smooth. My agent said it was going to get taken care of, he was a man of his word and it happened. It’s exciting. ‘The year Todd Collins inherited the starting quarterback job from Hall of Famer Jim Kelly, Channel 7’s John Murphy was asking Steve Tasker a series of “does he need to . . . ” questions about Collins. Tasker interrupted him. “What he needs to do is pay attention,” was his answer.’

‘”You’re trying to see who is dependable, who is accountable, who is a physically and mentally tough player in the good part of it, and then when it gets hard and they face some adversity, you want to see who can outlast it,” Mularkey said on Saturday as his players checked into their dorm rooms.’

‘”Every second we’re together is critical, especially young players like that. It’s definitely a good start.”‘

‘”All I can say is wow,” said new head coach Mike Mularkey, as he addressed the faithful. “If there’s a better fan base anywhere in America, I’d like to see it.”‘

‘The entire Bills roster will conduct one practice session on Sunday beginning at 2:45 pm. The first day of camp from St. John Fisher College is opened to the public.’

‘”It’s a great thing to have in your community. It’s great for community pride. It’s just a tremendous family activity to go over to camp just to have the chance to see NFL and pro athletes is something most communities and most people don’t have a chance to see. So, it’s great for us for that, but it also puts us on the map,” said Carpenter.’

‘You are trying to evaluate players down here. You’re also trying to evaluate your team and see who is dependable, accountable and who the physically and mentally tough players are. When it gets hard and they face a little adversity you want to see who can out last it. You also want to find out some things about each phase of the team. You want to see defensively if we are going to be complacent or get better, trying to create more turnovers more than ever. Offensively you want to see if we are going to be a smart offense and a ball control offense. On special teams you want to see if we are going to be consistent. All of those things are going to be evaluated, it’s not just what’s on film. We are going to hit a little bit more than I think they’ve hit in the past. Right or wrong I think that is the best way to get a feel for all of those evaluations, which is to start a little more physical and you can then cut back.’

‘I’m fired up to get going. Anytime you have a tough year you want to put that behind you as quick as you can. For the most part I feel like I’ve done that, I’m not really too concerned about last year at all. I’m going forward from here and I’m going to be optimistic about the year. That’s what’s got me fired up, it’s not necessarily last year, but just the fact that I feel we have a chance to be very good this year.’

‘On what his demands were to his agent: I’ve known him since I was in about 10th grade of high school, so we have a really good relationship. When he says something’s going to happen, I believe him.’

‘”Luckily I didn’t have to have surgery,” Moulds said. “It was tough to let it (the groin) heal on its own. It’s one of the injuries you just need to have rest for it to recover. But it healed nicely and I’m happy with the results.”‘
