‘"They’re checking me out. The league has changed their stance with head injuries. They are very careful about things now. When you have guys like Steve Young, Troy Aikman, and going back farther Chris Miller, who ended up ending their careers because of head injuries the league is very careful about stuff. I have confidence that our guys are going to do the right thing and analyze my situation the right way. If it’s not safe to play I won’t play."’

Bills Coach Gregg Williams Previews NY Jets
‘"Jonas Jennings has a fracture of that toe joint and it’s something that he won’t be able to play with. We have put him on the IR. He is out for this week. Mike Pucillo is still doubtful. Terrence McGee, Keith McKenzie and Sammy Morris we have listed as questionable. We don’t have to list Drew (Bledsoe) but we put him down as probable since it was a coaching decision on pulling him out of the ballgame. Dave Moore is also probable. Both of those guys have bounced back okay."’
Garnes comes up with big plays
”’He definitely did things that opened some eyes, not just fans, but players as well,” cornerback Ray Mickens said. ”He’s a difference maker on our defense. He’s had a lot of real big games. It was just another outstanding performance.”’
Bills place OT Jennings on IR
‘The three-year veteran was hurt in the fourth quarter of Buffalo’s 24-7 win over the Giants on Sunday. Jennings started 11 games this season, missing one due to a hip flexor injury earlier in the year.’
Bills place OT Jennings on injured reserve

Bledsoe still dizzy after hit to head
‘He is listed as probable, meaning there is a 75 percent chance he will play in Sunday’s home game. This was the second straight week in which he took a blow to the head.’
Jets Heading to Buffalo, Hoping for Hot Winter
‘We need to win this game. These are very, very important games. All we’re trying to do is beat the Buffalo Bills, and it will be a tough game, believe me. They had a big win here over the Giants, and Greg will have them going. They are playing at home. It will be a tough game, but it’s one we need to win.’
Schobel Selected As AFC Defensive POW

Bills’ defense closing in on top ranking
‘”We said back in training camp that we wanted to be the No. 1 defense in football,” Bills defensive coordinator Jerry Gray said. “The best thing you can do is go out and play like it, no matter what the circumstances are. You wish that (won-loss) record was totally different, but it’s not. You have to play with what you have. You can’t change the past. The thing we’re trying to do is keep going forward and play one game at a time.”‘
Changing their tune
‘Playoffs for the Jets? It’s still not something to bet the ranch on. Yet heading to cold Buffalo, the players are warming to the idea.’
Jets odds and ends
‘Defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell said the secret to the Jets’ efficient containment of Tennessee’s dangerous offense Monday night was not in being more aggressive with blitzes, but in “executing a lot better.”‘
There’s Just Last Stands Remaining for the Jets
‘”He made it plain to us that we would not leave the stadium unless we were 5-7,” Curtis Martin said. “And now we’re 5-7. When our leader stands up and says something, you feel obligated to carry it out. I think we all feed off his fire.”‘
Chad, Jets stayin’ alive
‘Referring to Sunday’s game against the Bills (5-7) in Orchard Park, he said, “This is probably the most important game we’re going to play all year.”‘
